I second that, you couldn't give me dial-up knowing how much better highspeed is. I have rr and love it.

depends if i'm on my computer, or the g/f's laptop...

mine is on RR... the laptop connects to the strongest signal... which occasionally is the neighbor's un-secure wi-fi ;)

Charter Internet, Basic Cable = $60/6 months. it was nearly $200 a month when we had all the HD channels, and everything under the moon.

i could get high speed free off the neighbors. they never shut it off. work pays for my 5meg though.

Dude!

You have to call them and tell them you are going to cancell the DSL because it's too expensive !

The $50 a month you are paying is the "regular rate" for the DSL after the lower rate you started off with expired.....

Call them and they will put you back on a "special rate" of much less for a specific span of time as long as you "stay with them for a year" of more...

I started SBC with a DSL bill of $24.95 a month , after a year with them it jumped to $50 a month, I called to cancell DSL and they pulled it back to $14.95 a month for the next year!

I tried that, twice actually, and each time all they told me was I would have to pay a $200 fee to break the conract, they never once threw any better offers at me. I only have 2 months left, then its fucck you to SBC.

Wow! I don't blame you at all for dumping it !

Like I said for me the $14.95 a month is a good deal, it would be hard to find a connection as fast for that price....

It sure seems like they could be more fair with the pricing though, one guy pays $14.95 a month and they want $50.00 from the next guy for the same service!

RR since it came out. funny thing with RR is we've moved once, and both times on install, something was wrong with the modem or connection OUTSIDE. we ended up waiting about a total of a week extra from initial install time, but got almost a year total at 20 bucks a month. EVENTUALLY, charter or another decent lower price company will break Time Warner's monopoly of this area. it happened up north finally, just give it time. high speed in most areas now is around 30 bucks or less

I'm on TDS DSL and it sucks! It's only 2 times faster than dial-up and they want a freakin' premium for it. ~14.5kbps!

Road Runner... I pay... 24.95/mo or something like that... They tried to raise my rate and I told the guy I wanted out, he said ok, then I asked to speak with his supervisor... So, I got 24.95 locked in...

i once heard that a T1 connection is sometimes slower then a Broadband connection..obviosuly the Bandwith is way different. from what i could find the average T1 connection is 1.544Mbps so a T1 line isnt anything like "super" special

I have a T1, and my connection speed is

Last Result:
Download Speed: 22064 kbps (2758 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 8471 kbps (1058.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

I am in the Twin Cities if that makes a difference.
