Thanks a lot guys! I am getting some dispute over the 60' but everyone who is at the track regularly is saying that it looks legit.

Pat at Rod and Competition was down there and told me "if anyone doesnt believe it tell them to call me. I was there!"

Either way, I have the other video being uploaded right now. I will link it in a few minutes.

Thanks Again,

That is a hell of a fvckin' run!!

One thing I did notice in the video..... after you took off, the second set of 'Staging' lights werent tripped until late in the 60'.
Maybe its just me, or the camera angle, but does anyone else see that?

Not trying to take anything away from you... its just something I noticed.

Edited for spelling. ;)

No No thats fine.

That is kindof what I was asking about before. I know the car did better than the 9.6 next to me but I am starting to wonder if it didnt do as well as I thought.

The other explaination I heard was look at the Pinto's R/T against mine and then Look at the 60's. Im 3tenths slower in the R/T but 3tenths faster in the 60'. If you look the rest of the way down the slip, I stay about 3 tenths ahead until about the 1/8th mile. This was all just brought to my attention and I dont know what to think about it.

Someone else might know better than I do. I will tell you what though. I am capping the wastegate off and pushing that fu(king thing down the track again within the next week or so.

Thanks otherwise to everyone!

That was an AWESOME run!

Now because you asked :) I have made two 10 second
pass's in the right lane...in my 12 second Omni :( I have
never disputed the right lanes 60 foot time but the left
lane has given my FWD car 1.6, this same car only run
on street tires has never gotten better than a 1.9 when
tires were new. Just make another pass and you will confirm
it, and I would love to watch that car is FLYING at any rate!

Now that you mentioned that, I watched the video over and over again. Jakes stage light did not go off until he was well into his 60'. There was difinitely something funky with the lights. Unfortunately, that would tell me that he did not pull a 1.1xx 60' or a 9.20 ET. But I wish he would have, it would have been awesome! I have no doubt that Jake will match or better his 9.20 ET within his next few times to the track but I don't know if he will be able to pull a 1.1 60', but you never know. Good luck Jake.

Jake, does your car meet NHRA requirements and are you licensed? If so, I would like to see you at Route 66 in Joliet, IL next weekend. Best track in the country and other fast DSM's. If you're going to lay down your best time, that's the best place to do it.:thumbsup

Yeah I have kind of been coming to the conclusion that the run was more like a 1.4 sixty with a 9.5x 1/4mi. This is the debate I have been going through.

I am going to be down this week to back it up either way. If all goes well there will be a 9.20 or better with out the funkey lights!

Thanks Cryptic & Loudrex!

A good friend of mine in Idaho just pointed out another mistake that I made....

Watch the in-car video again. I shut down early.:fire You can still plain as day see the 1320' marker in the video through the front windshield. I dont know how much (if any) this would have affected the time, but it could have caused some mph loss. :alcoholic Im glad I dont drink with how bad I normally am!:alcoholic

The LED backlit gauges are nice. SW makes a 2LED and a 4LED bulb. The 4LED bulbs are supposed to be for the 3 3/8" and bigger gauges but I put them in all the gauges. It really lights up the inside of the car.

The in-car is pretty cool. Its a sony flip open hand held 5m camera, and the mount is a stock dsm connecting rod with a bolt and a lock nut welded to it. I will get a pic.

Jake nice run no doubt.... the only way to prove the dispute WRONG is to "RUN THE 1.1 60FT AGAIN"........ In the past at GLDW there have been a good number of computer error. One guy I knew FWD 22x8x15 M/T turned in 1.38 60ft.... when he raced a 9 sec HOTROD!!! Another of my fellow friend in Texas with a TURBO4 car(street FWD Honda) hit a 1.3 60ft and turned in 9.3s@151mph and was declaried ERROR... his usual times are 9.6-9.7@151mph...with 1.5-1.6 60ft. BEST way again Jake is to run it and BACK it up 2-3 times and then people wont say sh1t... :thumbsup
When we ran 10.1s-10.2s@145-147mph in our Drag FWD Honda alot of the guys on the stand BSed us until we backed it up a 2nd time...hehe!!! :thumbsup

THE OTHER VIDEO! (http://www.llarian.net/~gomer/9.20%20clipped.mpg)

Hey Jake it is hard to say with that video... seems like you triggered your light first, but he got you with his launched and then you passed him a bit... after that you seemed to be in front from there on... WHAT DID HE RUN AND HIS 60ft???? Sometimes the LOUD V8s can trigger your 60ft light due to debris/noise/etc etc... with you launching ahead of him and when he actually edged you to the 60ft could've triggered his and your 60ft light...cutting your 60ft with a 1.13.. Or plain and simple the computer screwed up cause by the Video seemed like the last YELLOW light finally went off when you almost passed the 60ft....giving you the 1.13...JUST A THOUGHT!!! Most guys that have hit low 1sec 60ft out of random have been through faulty triggering of some sort... Hey Jake again best bet is to PROVE the doubters wrong by taking her back to the track and bust it again 2 times.....Usually the crowd and the doubters(the ones you are arguing with) wants to see backups.. good luck!!! :thumbsup

i dont see how the reaction time has anything to do with this. That time is completley sepeate from your actually quater mile run. The other guy could run a 2 tenth slower time and still be ahead of you cause he had a better R/T, and you could be running 2 tenths faster and be behind him.

WhatsADSM
09-14-2006, 05:52 PM
My guess is that it somehow triggered you leave (i.e. the R/T trigger) on your back wheels. It would explain the a little too high of an R/T and a little to low of a 60'... but the good news would be that if it did do that your 1/4 time is still very accurate :)

looking at the 330 and the 1/8: I am compairing it to my runs and others runs, and would have to say the whole thing is about 3tenths off. This is leaving me with a 9.5-9.6 which I am still very happy with.

Unless the unlikely happens, I will see 8s this year.
