1993 Escort GT
1.8 DOHC Engine
5 Speed Tranny
Black Exterior
Grey Interior
AM/FM Cassette
126K Miles
A/C holds refrigerant but needs recharge.

This car runs like a freakin' top. Clutch is real good and strong. The alternator makes a little ticking noise but it's done that for a while with no ill effects (you can make it go away for a bit with a shot of WD40 but I don't bother anymore). Body has its fair share or dings and scratches. Has rust above the rear wheel wells on both sides. Leaks a little power steering fluid but I think it's because someone overfilled it as it's leaked from day 1 and I still haven't had to add any yet. When I bought it, it had a smashed out LF marker light from a bump over on that LF corner. Replaced that. All bulbs work except a few in the dash and radio display. Auto seat belts work. Parking Brake cable needs adjustment. Flex pipe on the exhaust leaks a little but it's not loud by any means, you can just hear a little exhaust flutter coming from down that way.

Been driving this car for my job for about a month and it gets 31-36 MPG depending on how much I'm in the city. I've put over 2000 miles on it in that time and have had no problems. Only reasons for selling... 1. I'm 6'2", 225 lbs and am in and out of this thing all day. It's like trying to smush 10 lbs of sh!t into a 5 lb bag sometimes. 2. I am on the phone alot for work and am going to kill myself or someone else trying to drive stick shift and communicate.

Asking $800. Located in Milwaukee.

do you know if the timing belt has been changed on it?

Up until January, it was owned by a Ford tech at Griffin I was told. He told the dude I bought it from that the timing belt was recent but honestly, I have no way of telling. The motor seems tight as heck so I would assume he was telling the truth. The guy I bought it from knew nothing about cars so he couldn't likely just make that up.

Going to toss an alternator in it in the meantime to replace the one making noise.

If someone wants it as-is, the price is still $800. I'll include the alternator if I haven't had time to install it.

Thanks!

I'd actually prefer to trade it for money at this point. Not sure if I'll get another beater right away or just drive my truck for work. The driveway shuffle every damn day is driving me nuts.
