I've seen the M88 move, that thing is super slow. Scary to see that thing coming at you, being that it is a huge armored object that takes up to lanes.

You just had to go and post pictures of that. Man I miss driving my M88 around Ft. McCoy If you got them, post up the engine specs for that thing there pretty impressive, something like 1600 hp Air Cooled Twin Turbo V12.

Yeah they are pretty cool, they pulled are 557s around Ft. McCoy a couple of times when they would brake down.

I found it for you all; 12 Cylinder Diesel 750 HP at 2400 RPM

good luck out there.

I got a call from my best friend last night.

4am his time, and he called me on a mission. all he could tell me was that he was north of his brother in the desert.

the connection was so crappy, could hardly understand a word. just made me sad, it's like a part of me left when he left. All I could think of all night was how this lone soldier at 4 in the morning wanted to hear a voice from home, and he called his best friend and his best friend got all touchy feely and emotional and blubbered on about how great it was to hear that he's safe, and still intact, and doing ok. He's the only person that isn't family that I can actually say "i love you" on the phone. he and his brother are like true brothers to me, not by blood, but by a bond nearly as strong as a long running friendship.

So remember you have people back home that love you, miss you, and can't wait for your return.

out of curiousity where you out of, what rank are you, and what company are you in?

My unit is out of Sussex, WI. I am a Sergeant E-5 with 1-121st FA I have been gone from home since April of 2006. I miss home a lot and really like talking and reading everything my friends and other people write on this site whenever I can. It really brightens my day. I know how you feel about your friend, I really miss Juicedimpss and Iussu. There is other friends on this site I miss too, but those guys are my best friends.

Then you know my best friend Staff Sergeant E-5 Kenneth E. Thiele. He too is in the 121st --- his mail I send to him is -- C-Co 1/121 FA 3rd PLT

His younger brother by two years is Sergeant E-4 Henry A. Thiele He is in the B-128th out of Watertown. He left us for training a year ago now, but should be home for good by late November.

I'll keep you in my prayers, esp. since I assume you're doing the same as Ken.
And it's definately not safe shit, in fact you're likely more targeted than most.

a pic from ken's sendoff in april
and a pic of them when they first found each other on the base when Ken arrived. in july
here's a pic from Henry's sendoff, he and the family. last august

they're lucky to have each other there, but also not, since the last thing you wanna have is a brother putting his life on the line.

Yeah I know SSG Thiele he’s a good guy. I met his younger brother too at dinner one night. There is danger all around but SSG Thiele has a much more dangerous job then I do. I give the guys on the road mad props for what they do. I am in communications, it is like maintenance for radios and all the other special secret equipment they have. I go out on the road once and awhile but not everyday like he does.

Which guy are you in that first pic, are you the tall one or the shorter guy? You have a nice collection of cars on your hands. I hope to get mine finished when I come home in time before the end of the racing season.

i'm the tall fat guy.

yeah like the other night when he called, all he could say was that he was on the road, somewhere north of the base.

Make sure my guys stay safe, I don't know what I'd do w/out them, especially Ken. It's like a part of me has been gone since he left. I can't drink beer or watch family guy anymore.

thanks for the props on the collection. I'm starting a collection of broken and non-running vehicles, anyone wanna donate?
