Oh yeah, and it goofed up the search drop down box, I can't click "advanced search"? :confused
Not complaining, just pointing it out.

EDIT: I figured it out, but its still goofy.

Its really cool that they turned a plain old wheel into a fancy red wheel and some brake parts. :rolf

and the best part about it is it slows every page loading.....

Yeah, lets lose that banner ad. How about a checkbox in the profile that disables said ads from appearing.

It'd be fine if it wasn't animated, or maybe just 2 or 3 frames.

If someones paying for advertising on BCM, the banner obviously has a right to be there...

I'm gonna have to agree with that one.

the banner has a right to be there, but there's gotta be a better way to place it on the site...

Could it go in the upper, right hand corner in the top banner?

I understand BCM needs the $$$, but I think some bugs need to be worked out.

The solution for that, if they wish to continue to place flash ads in that spot, is to simply move the navbar links around so that the drop-downs are not positioned directly above the flash movie. Placing the "log out" or "register" link two places to the left would solve that problem...

Flash trumps DHTML, hence the problem.

Step 1: Apply filter to bcm rice ads directory, and enjoy BCM ad-free. It takes about 2 seconds more to load each page, since it has to go through and search and determine not to load the ads, but well worth it.

Thanks man, worked like a charm. :thumbsup

At first it was a pain, because of the slow loading, but today the pages load just as quick as they ever did.

shows up fine and doesn't seem to slow anything down but like yellow wagon said its annoying as hell to see the smae thing over and over and over and over and over(well you get the point) again

I'll fix this... the flash video is a little large. (132K)

I'll move its location and make it smaller (size and dimensions)

Were did it move to????????

I'm remaking it... a little more friendly to the people on slower connections... although there have been animated Gifs in signatures and avatars that are worse.

But one can turn those off :)
