I'd prefer to ride with a helmet on the sport bike I recently purchased, yet I'm having a hard time finding one that is affordable. Any suggestions as to where I can go to spend 0-150 on a nice, flat or gloss black helmet in size L ? Don and Roys is nuts, and none of the Harley places have anything my size for less then 250 bones

This is a no-brainer.

Public Assistance should cover the whole nut (http://helmetkid.ytmnd.com/)!!!

The helmet I found for my girlfriend was 89 bucks, and it was both DOT and SNELL approved. She says its pretty comfy too, so I know there are better prices out there then 250+

I think I'll go with this one, I had one similar but it was crashed in so I discarded it. Price is right too, plus free shipping :-)

Eric,

This is the helmet I pick up at the begining of summer

I got it for about $180 with tax. It is a good helmet the only thing I dont car for is that the noise from the exhaust seems to rattle around a lot more and becomes annoying. Did you check out Sportland 2. They have a lot of helmets there and are a lot more reasonable then Don and Roys.

Also were are the pictures of your new bike?

My wife has an HJC helmet and she likes it.
I have a Shoei but I got it for a good deal, otherwise I'd have gotten an HJC.

Just wanted to say, this is one of those things that you get what you pay for. Do you really want to skimp on a helmet? Not that there are not nice ones for under $200, but its on your noggen for a reason. If shopping online, make sure its dot/snell approved, not some UK variant. They do not need either of those ratings over seas. If looking used, just keep in mind that its suggested to replace your helmet every five years, i.e. the newer the better. Just some food for thought!

everything he said.... my brain is worth more than $40 to me. if you are going through the hassle of getting a helmet, make SURE it is SNELL, dot doesnt mean shit.
also, its nice to try the helmet on before buying it,an improper fitting helmet will do you no good.

Damn, I wish I woulda saw this thread like 20 minutes ago. What size is it? Is it a Large?

I just ordered one for 94 bucks + free shipping, but its gloss black and I would much prefer the flat black one. I might still pick yours up, check your pm
