Repost but this is new information as of 7/18/06

Like I said before, I think I like the scooters more :thumbsup

*** Update 7/18/06 *** You have to give the California Department of Motor Vehicles (the DMV) credit for creativity on this one. A DMV insider has disclosed to me that the DMV has made a formal request to a federal agency to rule if my Beetle constitutes a threat to national security based on what could happen if it got into the wrong hands. This raises three questions in my mind: #1 Does this mean I’m the right hands? #2 If someone with the name "b_laden13" is the highest eBay bidder for my Beetle can I refuse his offer even if he has the prestigious eBay Red Shooting Star feedback rating (the highest)? #3 Would this affect my eBay rating?

I've seen replies to e-mails sent to this prick. The guy is an egocentric, pompous ass. NOT the cool car guy some think he is.

I'm wondering where he picked up that engine from. Those things aren't exactly cheap.

Well considering he got it from the Navy Surplus, he may have gotten a "deal". I wouldn't say much less than $200k though.

Dont jet engines backfire out the intake end on start up sometimes? I though I seen a jet car or tractor or something doing that once. If so I wouldnt want to be in there if that happend. On the plus side if you ever farted in there you could just crank up the jet to suck it out. :goof

The whistle on that end of the compressor intake has got to be fooking insane!

Not to mention that loose clothing and body parts get sucked tight up against the screen!

True.
I would fab up a pipe from the intake to a scoop the size of the sunroof.
Like the over-the-roof scoops kits for the original beetles.

1.) This guys car, completeness, and quality of craftsmanship is amazing. He said it took 4 years to build.

2.) I can vouch for what Mat73GNZ said, this guy is a complete ass. I emailed him back and forth a few times until I mentioned the drag strip and he blew me off with "Great place for 16 year olds to pose by their Hondas". Guess this clown isn't into validating his concepts nearly as much as he is into building them... :flipoff2:

Nope.
They can be had for 1/4 of that pretty readily.
My crazy uncle had a pull tractor with 2 helicopter turbines on it, and he didn't have no 1/2 million in it.
No offense, but you are way, way off on the numbers.
