The Rebel XT is an AWESOME camera for the money. Canon makes a lot of nice lenses, the camera is easy to use and it takes GREAT shots. Hands down....buy that.

casio is a 10.1 mega pixle compact camera. From what I heard it takes great video too.

Now where to get a rebel. E-Bay? or should I stay away from that?

Is the lens that comes with it pretty good or should I just get the body and get a different lens?

I've had the 17-85 EFS IS (IS mean stabalized lens) and if you can drop the extra coin I'd go with that.

The 18-55mm EFS I have no experience with...

Or just buy a body and pick a lens... how much you wanna spend?

Comes with the EF-S 18-55

I don't think I can justify the IS lens. Does the image stabilization use up the battery faster or is this just a dumb question

its an ok lens especially for the money. upgrading later is always nice.
check www.fredmiranda.com for reviews.

check ilikecheapstuff.com and http://www.xpbargains.com/dell_coupons/ i got mine through dell using a coupon and saved quite a bit.

I use the XT with the 18-55mm lens. I can't get them to spring for the IS lens. But it works nicely. Good close up - midrange. All around good lens for us novices. :) For long range we have a couple Sigma DG lenses which are...ok. Not the best.

oh yeah it's black ;)

I have the XT and I love it....more that I know what to do with. I personally can't stand point & shoot cameras anymore after using the XT for about 8 months.

20D isnt much different than the XT... specially for the money, same DIGIC II processor
both are 1.6x crop factor.... so you loose the 3200 iso... who wants that grainy sh!t anyway.

its a bigger body, and some people prefer that... doesnt matter much to me.
better off putting that extra cash towards better lenses

If you are going to buy used check out keh.com. They rate their used stuff so you will have an idea what condition the item is in.
