Need some help with this. I never poked around and looked, but coming from either the firewall, or relatively close to it, there is a faint rumbling rattling sound in my steering. I can also feel it sometimes in the steering wheel. Especially going around turns. Its not extremely loud, you can only hear it with the radio turned off, but this problem has been getting noticeably worse. Any ideas what this could be? Truck still drives straight as an arrow :confused

I doubt it, my brakes still work perfect. No recent brake work has been done either. I have yet to see brake calipers just loosen up on their own. Reason im thinking intermediate shaft is because its a TSB for these trucks....

So are you gonna sell the truck for $60 'as is' now?

its that intermediate shaft, every 99+ fullsize or SUV we owned (4) all had to have it replaced, u can atually feel it knocking through the brake pedal sometimes if ur foot is on it when it does it. Its a common thing.
