M'kay with the project.

Makes me wonder about the Slinger Enduro. Did I miss it?

Also, how much to race at slinger? I can't bring my ITA car there due to it being a DOHC, but if I had a car for it, it would be fun.

the 4 cyl cars are nuts!
i used to help out #69 in the 8cyl class a few years back.
thats very time consuming if you want a top 10 car.

ford is long gone.
back to a burban, just a little newer than the last one.

I ended up blowing up the 350 that was in the burban I bought from ya... long story. it leaned out, blew a hole through the piston, seized the rod and pin together, and then cracked the cylinder wall... then I dropped a 400sbc in there. that woke it up a little.

what happened with the ford? it was nice.

bummer on the leanout, that motor had some decent stuff in it.
hopefully you didnt wreck the hyd roller cam or the vortech heads.

the ford wasnt really very good on fuel, and i got into a 04 silverado for the same money,so it went away. the silverado was black and ended up having SEVERE probles with the paint and after a certain local dealership screwed it up more than the factory did,i made them buy it back.now i picked up a hoopty 99 burban, witch seems to be a really nice truck for the money.

the vortec heads I saved, and then sold. I don't recall removing the cam out of the block though before I trashed it... didnt think twice about it :(

I am in a 02 Z71 now, loving everything about it, nice truck, pulls well, good options. Perhaps if I catch ya at a gathering we can shoot the shit or somethin. Probably wont even recognize eachother. must have been like 4 years at least....

heh, that car was fun,and it even had a trailer hitch.
i have less $$ into mods on the curent imp,it gets almost 2 times the fuel mileage and would lay the smack down on the old one.:thumbsup
yeah,im still workin parts at the house.if you come in,ask to see me,im not at the front counter anymore.....

Hey how do you think the prizm would fair in a class like that next year?? :)

juicedimpss
08-22-2006, 03:48 PM
pretty much any 4 cyl that runs good can do well, stickshift is best for a top 10 car in that class. you really need something that had GOOD brakes and handling more than you need something with big power.it helps to have a driver with granite balls.

Maybe one of them guys wants to buy my 5 speed Escort GT. 4 wheel discs and sport suspension. Right to da' front!! :banana1:

Too bad the 35 MPG is doing me much better purpose on the street.

If you ever decide to sell that, I call dibs. I kind of wish I would have bought it. My Bonneville gets like 2 gallons per mile. :(

I fixed a bunch of crap on it already with some elbow grease and a few trips to the junkyards. You could tell that dude wasn't a very mechaincally saavy fella'. No complaints other than an Escort isn't ideal for a 6'2" guy. But hey, it costs me about 9 cents a mile to operate and work pays me about 44 cents a mile to drive it. :banana
