At the NE corner of the intersection of Moorland and Coffee Rd?
I drove past there about noon...must had just happened, as ambulances were still enroute.

Black Saturn apparently lost it at the intersection, bounced off one tree, went airborne, and landed against another tree, which sliced the car completely in half. I saw the front half of the car against the tree, back half was a good 30-40' away. :wow Very ugly scene, 2 sheets on the ground, debris scattered everywhere across someone's front lawn.

I just caught it on the news...said they were traveling northbound on Moorland in the closed construction lane at a "very high rate of speed" (no kidding). The 2 people in the car were ejected and dead at the scene.

Crazy stuff. I can't imagine with all that construction and daytime traffic how they even managed to get the car moving that fast.

I bet whats his face wouldnt have reported that guy either. If he was racing and doing something stupid like that then he deserved it. edit:Losing a family member like this is tragic. I sincerly hope that reckless driving was not involved. Hindsight, nobody deserves to die.

I don't think it was at all a racing incident.

Car was just an ordinary Saturn sedan, and the news reported the occupants to be a couple, perhaps married, I don't recall.

Moorland Rd in both directions is shut down to 1 lane all along that area due to construction. News reported the car was traveling in the closed lane.

As I passed by the scene, my only thought (based on the odd location for such extreme wreckage) was maybe it was the tragic end of a police chase, but nope.
Had it happened at 3 am :alcoholic , or it was some high-performance car (Ferrari's love to split in half) it would eeem to make more sense. Nothing about this crash seems to fit a typical explanation.

Doubt anyone will ever know why.

01SS, thanks. :thumbsup

My brother (Jared), said when they went past around 4:45 the police where still looking for one of the person's heads, it was a decapitation. Some kid on the side of the road told him that, for what its worth.
I feel bad for the families involved. Death is never good, but a horrific accident like that is just terrible. :crying

That accident was about 2 blocks from my work. I went through at about 2pm and it looked like the cops and ambulances had just gotten there. I didn't see any bodies, but it was pretty obvious that no one had survived. I find it very hard to believe it was the result of street racing, but they had to be going VERY fast. The car was in two pieces with wreckage scattered all over the street and yard. Easily the worst wreck I've ever seen with my own two eyes...

A Jeep Cherokee is not a car.
Look for a 'If you can read this...flip me over' sign on the rear window.

hi i'm new here my name is bill, i live about 2 blocks away from moorland and coffee RD. what i heard happened is that the guy had a stroke and pinned the gas pedal then hit the trees going about 80 to a 100mph. when i saw the car i could not even tell what end of the car i was looking at or what kind of car it was. the entire scene was just a mess. they both died at the scene, hopefully it was a quick and painless death.

the jeep or the saturn?

The Saturn. The jeep rolled while following a stolen car somehow, just following, not chasing.

They have what is left of the car in the new berlin police dept. parking lot under some tarps. Not much left of the car.

All I gotta say is.. wow.

I was wondering how something like this could happen. I was told they had the car maxed out at 120mph, but then was wondering how they could get up to that speed in traffic on Moorland...
