The SS should have a LS7, and the Z should have a LS2. Make the name mean something again. There is talk of making the Z28 the "top of the line" for the 5th gen Fbody because GM has slapped an SS badge on everything they can already. It dosent mean anything like it used to.

3.9L v6 for the BASE model

the 5.3L base engine for an "RS"

the 6.0L for the "Z28"

then the monster 7.0 for the "SS"

although while the time goes by, the new designations will come. but that general area would be nice :)

all said and done we'll probably have a sport coupe, a berlinetta, a LT, a RS, a SS, a Z/28 then also the RS package applied to the SS and Z-28 to have the much wanted RS/SS and RS/Z-28

likely it'll just be three models, my guess would be a 3.9v6, a 5.3 v8, and a 6.3v8
