A 26-year-old Indianapolis man fell about 25 feet at Miller Park on Tuesday night, after police say he went into unauthorized area and climbed a ladder to a catwalk.

Michael A. Miles and another Indianapolis man were issued trespassing tickets, police said. Miles was listed in satisfactory condition at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, a spokeswoman said.

At 8:10 p.m., the men went through a door marked "no admittance" on the fifth level of the stadium, climbed a stairwell and then a ladder, police said. He tried to climb out onto a catwalk but fell. He landed straddling a railing, police said. Miles was then grabbed by his friend to stop him from falling farther.

Police are investigating whether alcohol was a factor.

I'm drunk, so someone else do the math. Man falling (average weight ~185lbs) 25 feet and hitting a stationary object with his crotch is like a man getting kicked in the balls by his ex with her foot traveling at what miles per hour?

MMM, I don't think so. An object with any mass at all, falls at 1G. On this planet, that equates to an acceleration of 9.8meters per second, per second. So 9.8m rounded up equates to about 32 feet traveled in the first second. 32fps equates to 22mph if you again round up. 25ft is 78% of 32ft (distance wise) so by my reckoning (and math, especially algebra, IS NOT my strong suit) 78% of 22mph would be approximately 17mph.

Also, a 17mph groin kick isn't going to have the kinetic energy that the mass of a body will have. It will take longer for the body to slow down than a foot, so the tissue damage will be deeper and more traumatic. Ouch indeed! :crazyeyes
