Yeah, I've seen it too, I thought Maserati (Ghilbi perhaps) as well but I can't find anything that looks like it, either. Sorta looks like a BMW 850, but the sides aren't quite right. And if RR would post a full front image, it'd be a dead giveaway. :devil

And d0nut, I looked at Opels, too, and there isn't anything that looks like that.

I was also thinking Volvo Bertone, but Volvo'd never make a wedge front end car. Not too safe, at least for Volvo.

LOoks like a early 50's Allard. Hemi or Caddy?

1950 Allard J2, Caddy powered.

The winner of the Bridgehampton GP of 1950 this Allard J2 is the first one with a Cadillac V8. It was originally owned and raced by Tom Cole, who also co-drove the Allard J2 that placed 3rd in 1950 at Lemans. It's racing history includes Watkins Glen, Buenos Aires, and Mt Washington.

After 15 years of vintage racing , some street use, including the Mt. Washington Hillclimb it arrived at VSR running on 5 1/2 cylinders, smoking blue, and leaving a well lubricated bath in it wake . . . along with a very loose suspension.

Sorry, I caught it before the edit!

I would assume they were built in the AMC Capitol drive plant? I got a tour there in the 70's when I was like 5 years old. My dad worked with a guy that worked there. We used to give him rides to work and he would give my brothers and I handsfull of the AMC, Hornet and Gremlin emblems. We used to just throw them at each other. I could retire on them if I had kept em!:(
