I wanna buy this bike, see? The original owner is dead, seeee? How do I get him to give me a signed title? HE is from somewhere in the dirty souf, alabama. The guy that is selling the bike, is from illinois. :chair:

I looked on the Wi DMV website, and it said you can trasfer to a spouse to sell but I am pretty sure she is dead too

Isn't the person that aquired the bike through a will has to get the DMV to release the title to him and then he can sell it?

What?

The guy that has the bike is not related to the dead guy. He bought the bike at the estate sale

I would try that link. If the guy "bought" the bike from an estate sale without a signed title he technically can't sell the bike to you, as he doesn't legally own it... The DMV will tell you the same thing, trust me, I have heard it... See if Broadway can get it worked out for you, prolly your best bet. Good luck.

Broadway is kind of a rip-off, but it works. They are based in Alabama, one of the "non-title" states, they issue you an official bill of sale, that they sold you the bike, then you can get a title off of that. Best bet is to know somebody in one of the non-title states, make sure the bike is legit (not stolen), and have them write you up a bill of sale.

I think whoever is responsible for his possessions hands over the title. Probably a parent.
