:omg Everytime I see/hear a new clip from 9/11 it's like it's the first time!! I just get filled with rage and remorse!!!

I was in NY 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after 9/11 (I used to go all the time). Two weeks before I was in town consulting for a firm on the 60+ish floor of the Rockefeller building with a southward facing office, had a great view of lower Manhattan and I FORGOT MY DAMN CAMERA, I normally wasn't that far up in floors.

The evening of 9/10 I was on a plane to Calgary, Alberta. Couldn't get back either until my travel person got me a flight to Winnipeg and I drove the rest of the way. Say what you want about Canadians but they were very good to us then.

Two weeks later I flew into/out of Newark, we flew right over lower Manhattan at night, when they still had the search lights lighting up the entire area and she was still smoldering. Very sombering.

I guess that the 5 year anniversary is coming up, it is good to talk about again.

Here are some pics from a trip I took where I made it to the roof of the South Tower

Andy I am not at all ashamed to say it. It brought tears to my eyes. Just thinking about what must have been going thru that man's head and the people with him. "I have small children at home"
Any of us with kids of our own can relate. He must have wondered what would become of them. Perhaps he had time to realize that he wasn't going to see them grow up...

Then you hear that rumbling sound. If you dare you can imagine being there and then... the line goes dead..

FYI, there are a couple different versions of the same phone call on Youtube.

If anyone wants to save that I can tell you how to save youtube videos to your hard drive...

Wow as a dad that was painful to hear. I just saw the ad for 9/11 on tv and thought people really need to be reminded because so easily our society lets things go. I just wasnt ready for that kind of reminder.

Anyone else watch any of the other vids on 9/11? There are a bunch of people claiming that 9/11 was an inside job. I dont think I could sit there and listen to that crap in person.

Yeah, not fair guys. Possibly it was a mistake as well (meant to add positive). I cannot see a reason to knock him for this one.

I keep those pics close to me, thats for sure, a couple of them hang on my walls here at home. That was a rough day for alot of my family and friends since they all had a tough time getting a hold of me and most assumed I was in New York again.

I have many a story from friends/clients who live in NY but you can only talk about so many of them before they all just start blending together.

just one month before that. with my whole family, and my Army buddies Family. going back there just puts a VISUAL picture in your head,
HOW destructive these idiots are.

we must do everything we can to stop it!

1. Support your (OUR) Troops, in all ways!
2. Vote Repubican. The republicans are the ONLY party that has a CLUE as to what is happening and HOW to go about fixing it, long term.
3. help others around you. IF you see someone who needs help, STOP and help them!

With the absolutely all due respect, I bump this today.

I woke up, not able to get back to sleep, thinking back on today's occurrences five years ago. All the phone calls from family wanting to know if I was in NYC or not. Having the people of Canada literally treat us like relatives who had just lost a loved one.

What a long, terrible day......

^^Same Here^^. That's all I could really think about. A lot of different info is surfacing on all sorts of shows. Watching the frirst part of "The Path to 9/11" on ABC last night just upset me even more. I know not the whole movie is based on fact, but it really gives a lot of insight into what goes through those bastard's minds. I have three younger brothers and they didn't really understand how people could be so full of hate towards Americans. My old man put it bluntly last night "They want me, you, you and you all dead". They don't gun just for the gov't, they feel no shame in killing innocent men, women, and children. That makes me sick. I think all the different videos and specials that have been aired in the past week was a good thing. Five years ago, yet many people have forgotten why we still have armed forces fighting everyday in the middle east and abroad. It's not over yet, and won't be anytime soon. My appreciation to all the men and women that have the courage to wake up every day and put their lives on the line for the rest of us. Let's make sure we send our thoughts and prayers out to those families that lost loved ones five years ago today as well as the ones who lost their lives over seas.

Couldn't put that any better. Society in general doesn't understand how fragile life is. Perhaps it is that American "invincible mentality" that we have strong military powers and what not, I don't know. That's where we are so different than the whack jobs extremists. Many of us want to live life to its fullest, while these guys don't seem to appreciate life at all. Hell, I would never think about strapping a bundle of explosives to my stomach and going into some public place and lighting the place up, that's insane. It's hard to comprehend the mentality these people have. Yoo is right, we are still vulnerable. Last year, downtown I was walking to one of my classes and there was this man driving a civic down the street with no passengers. He was a middle-eastern man. As he passed me, I noticed he had a small video camera and was just holding it up as he drove by the Plaza East Towers on I think Milwaukee and State. That threw up a huge red flag: 1)who drives by and just videotapes buildings w/o watching what they are taping 2) This happened around the same time news stations were airing confisgated footage of terrorist tapes recording potential targets in Iraq. It was too weird. I called the PD and they had squads down there in 3 min driving all over the place. I still kick myself now for not being able to get the plates. Long story short, that just shows that we could potentially be a target right here in Milwaukee. I know we shouldn't jump to conclusions, but many times our intuition is correct.

Not that this makes any difference whatsoever but I JUST noticed that he says he is in World Trade Center 2, the video shows 1.

What Yoo said goes right along with my thoughts on the mass flag waving everyone did after 9/11 and slowly all those flags got put away.

the video that was added was just to show the timing of the event, not the actual tower that he was in coming down. i was also under the impression that they have not released ANY of the calls that have peoples voices on them from inside the towers because the families did not want them released. this video has been around the internet for quite a while, a lot of people believe it is not real. trust me im not flaming this thread, i have ultimate respect for everyone who died that day and the soldiers who continue to die for the fight against these bastards, but there are some strange weirdos out there who make this stuff up to get a rise out of people. remember a few years back those pictures of that guy who was suposedly on the roof of the buidling when the plane hit? it had millions of hits in a few hours and it was also a fake.

last night at work in the breakroom the tv was on with something going on about 9/11 and interviewing fellow family members of some firefighters that were lost that day. One man who was a firechief that died, his 2 sons became FDNY in honor of his father. Just listening to the stories and people that were there first hand explaining how the events unfolded was very upsetting. I couldn't even watch it, I had to walk away. Even now I'm having a tough time with my post without bringing a tear to my eye.
