When we were down in Joliet yesterday I snapped this pic of this jet car. It was already 100+ degrees out. :drool:

At GLD in the open air there loud as hell. I'm sure its twice as loud there !!!

Here's a couple pictures I snapped last week at GLD. The jet car in the left lane in the first picture broke the track record on that run for fastest E.T., which was a 4.93 or a 4.83 (couldn't hear exactly what). The second picture was just cool. I love jet engines :drool:

Back when I was a kid, my Dad would take me down there. I remember the tower being red back then. There was a couple of jets just starting up and popping up to the line and I noticed the tower was on fire! After they left the line, a few guys had to spray water on the tower to put it out. As a kid, I thought that was the coolest thing ever.

I remember someone telling me they moved the tower back because of the jet cars, or they ripped it down and rebuilt it further back?

Damn, I must be old as dirt. I remember when the track used to be on the OTHER side of the paved road. Anyone else remember that?

I was in the tower with Greg once when the jet cars ran, we had to hold all the computer plugs in, and hold all the stuff on the table, with the heat and the intensity I thought I was in HELL!
