Well.......anyone see it yet? I heard that the director didnt want anything related to the tv show, he wanted it to stand on its own merit(then why use the same characters and name but w/e). So did it? I used to love that show and cant believe they didnt at least use the theme song.

Saw it last night. It kinda plays like the tv show did in terms of how the storyline is structured. I also loved the show and loved the movie as well. Definately worth the money to see it in the theaters. Its also almost 3 hours long. Collin Farrell and Jaimie Fox are perfect for as a gritty and more realistic Crockett and Tubbs

OOppps, my bad. I stand corrected. The 2 hour ball park is about right. I really liked how they just started the movie and got into it without any opening credits. Wish more movies were like that.

I want to see but my wife doesn't:rolf
I loved the show and still try to catch it on TV in the sleuth channel (Channel 308 on Direct TV:goof )

Hopefully I'llget her to change her mind. I do wish they would have gone totally retro 80's though

The TV series was my favorite when it was on, but I don't know about this...

Colin Farrell isn't a very good actor, IMO, and it sounds like Michael Mann was being kind of a jag through out the movie making process. I know for sure Jan Hammer got the shaft from him on the movie score. How the hell can it be Miami Vice without the famous theme song? I'll probably go and see it, but only as a matinée.
