I know how much you liked the car while it was being built so before it left to go to its owner yesterday I snapped a few photos.

It's 440-6 Cuda. And the most highly optioned one I've ever seen. It has 2 full fender tags. Most Mopars fill about half of one tag. It's value would be in the low-mid $300s.

Awesome car!

If I could only hurry up and win that damn lottery. lol

How do you figure it is worth low to mid $300K? That seems outrageous considering its not a vert and it doesn't have a 426. I think the car is probably worth a lot don't get me wrong being that its a well optioned car but I think low-mid 300K is stretching it????

It's a fully documented, v code, 4 speed. It's one of the most highly optioned v coded cuda in existence. Has all paper work. They made 108 440-6 cudas in 1971. How many are left? It is also concours correct. Not just saying that either. Current market on the 440-6 71 is right around $300k.

He was offered $350k at the Carlisle when the car debuted last month. He declined....

I was at Hershey, PA last fall and the concours Mopars on the auction block were pulling anywhere from $100K to 225K. There was a 97 mile, unrestored 63 Polara street sweeper with a documented big cam max wedge, gears, aluminum fenders and hood etc....one of something like 24 cars produced with this combo pull only $225K. Just not sure if your car here would REALLY go for the 300's.

lol. I'm not going to turn this into an arguement. PM me if you want to talk about it. Thanks

Nice car, I like the color, you don't see that very often.
Lets see some underhood pics.
He should have jumped at that $350K offer. Low to mid $200K's is market value on a restored #'s V-Code.
Heres a very desirable color combo, restored V-Code that sold for $140K..

Also, most Mopars only fill out 1/2 of a fender tag? Interesting. I did not know that.

Its not an argument, rather a friendly discussion. :)

There were a few hemi Cuda's that fetched over a half million at some recent Barrett Jaskcons so I wouldn't see why such a documented Concours correct 440+6 car like this couldn't fetch 300K. :confused

Thats Barret Jackson though too, the most inflated car sales on the planet, ha ha ha. Barret Jackson is not a good judge of car values. There is real world collector value and Barret Jackson "good for TV viewers" inflated prices.

.....my boss went looking for a 61-62 Vette there last year and was disgusted by the prices at that place....they were asking $140K for a 50K mile 62 Vette. He bought a 62 Vette from a guy in Iowa 3 weeks later, fully restored for $75K.

All I was saying is there's a possibility he could fetch that kind of money for that car. Maybe not in WI with a car that expensive, but there's some rich dudes out there with nothing but money to blow. All it takes is the right rich buyer with a car like that.

Yellow Wagon is correct too - but he's not clear on the concept of a "concours correct" car done by a shop like Aloha.

A "restored" 6 pack Cuda does go for "only" around $100-$125. There is a big difference between average restored and something like this one. I'm betting every piece is new, NOS, date code correct, every assembly mark reproduced, just done basically virtually flawless and exactly like it rolled off the Chrysler dealer lot. Once you get mega restored like that, plus the high options etc. the price goes to damn near what anyone will pay. $300K or more at an auction like Barrett-Jackson is about right.

Exactly.......

Thanks for the pics, Dan.:thumbsup

But they do ZERO justice for the color of that car.

$300K+? Show me one non-Hemi or AAR Cuda that sold for anything near that at BJ.

Heres a rotisserie restored 70 V-Code that sold for $118,800...

Heres a 70 V-Code, 2 tag car that sold for $147,400, restored, magazine feature car...

To say "Current market on the 440-6 71 is right around $300k" is way off base, for a non-Hemi, non-convert, non-high impact color car. It dosen't matter how over restored the car is. And I'm fully aware what a "concours" resto is. ;)

I'm not knocking the car, it's beautiful, I would own it in a heartbeat, but lets stay in reality. The bubble has burst as far as Mopar prices, no more "crazy" prices, BJ or anywhere else.
Thats my opinion, let the flaming begin. :stare

Aloha- You've been online all day, no engine pics?

Well he does work at Aloha, Im sure he sees what all the cars go for.

So I would think he knows what he is talking about.

virtually flawless and exactly like it rolled off the Chrysler dealer lot.
Uh, most would argue MUCH better than the day it rolled of the dealer lot :goof

The bubble has burst as far as Mopar prices, no more "crazy" prices, BJ or anywhere else. Unless something's happened in the last month or two, I'd disagree.

Just last month a 318 powered barracuda convertible went for 50+G's. For a freakin' 318!!! A 383 Convertible went for almost 90G. Well done mopar clones with max wedges have gone for 125+! CLONES! :wow

E bodies defy the rules of pricing at this time too...no less the experts and observers of classic muscle cars from Hemmings Review refused to give estimates of prices for most E bodies saying that it was "impossible" to do so with any certaintity. They were certain that any attempt to do so would result in 1000's of letters, many from experts stating strong objections either one way or the other....now, if the experts are saying that, I don't think we'll come to any definitive conclusion here (not saying you can't debate...)

But, it's the guys with the crazy money who set the market for cars like that...we just sit around and shoot the ****.

And if the market HAS busted, please let me know when you see a rust free, clean interior, "3" or higher 70-71 Ebody for under 20G...cause I'll buy it in a heartbeat no matter the engine. :D

:rolf Its a rare proto-type Hemi that looks and runs just like a 440 :rolf :goof

I wish, it's "just" a 440. :thumbsup

They actually make valve covers for big block Mopars that make them look just like a Hemi, pretty cheesy, but whatever trips your trigger.

Thanks :thumbsup I've got a few interesting things lined up, just have to sell it first. I've had nothing but trade offers so far, Corvettes, Harleys, RVs, a pro-street Rambler :durr . Nobody wants to spend any money in this area. Its a fairly priced big block Mopar, it'll sell, just takes time... :shades

Welcome to SE WI..........:(

Ive been telling people this for years.

I agree 110%. In the past year I've sold 2 higher dollar cars, a $22.5K Cuda and a $12K 65 Mustang, both buyers came from Iowa. Even lower dollar cars, I shipped a Camaro to Pittsburg, a Monte SS to St Louis, a 66 Charger 4X4 :durr to Iowa as well. All the cars where well advertised local, but sold right away on a national level.
I believe thats why there is no real classic car sales places around the area, there is no market in SE WI. We have Bob Adams/Valenti, but its mostly consignments that sit down there forever, Authentic on Packard pays the bills from restoring cars. Every other major city has a handful of collector/specialty car dealers, but Milwaukee area buyers are all cheap-skates :D
