I'm looking to get a burner for my computer. I'm pretty much out of the loop on these things. What are some important specs to look for when buying one?

Spend the money and get a Double layer right away. You don't use the doubles that often, but when you need it you love it :)

if time is a issue... make sure you try to find one with a faster burning speed.. 16x is what most blank dvd dics are... you can get them dirt cheap.. i got 100 DVD-R last week for $6.29, but thats just how i buy things....

and that double layer would be a good thing to look into...

just my 2 cents

lol from best buy.... they were like $50 or $55.. then they were on sale for $30.. then i had 12% off (cuz of the rewards zone) and $20 in store credit (from rewards zone)

The rewards zone costs like 10 bucks for a year... get it if your gonna make a huge buy.. it paid for itself within a week ha... if you go to best buy alot.. i strongly suggest becoming a member.. i got like 50 bucks from them already just this summer.
