After talking about doing it for a few years, I have FINNALLY decided to do it.


What- American LeMans GENERAC 500

Where- ROAD AMEICA Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, Turn 1

When- August 20th 2006

Why- Its a great race with Prototype Sports cars, Ferraris, Factory Vettes, Porsches. And its taking place at the finest Road Course in North America.

How much- Tickets are $45, sometimes you can catch a person on the way, close to the track for a few bucks less. Last year they had a canned food drive that reduced the ticket price by 10 bucks.

You can drive the track- If you get there early enough or pre-register, you can pay yo drive your car earlier in the morning. Its costs $50, and you can find details here.......http://www.roadamerica.com/tickets.asp

What to bring- GOOD walking shoes, that could get a little dusty, a lawn char to sit on at different places at the track or to sit by my setup at turn one, Camera, Sunblock, Umbrella to keep sun off.

I will have a Tent put up by turn 1 and will have a grill cooking bugers, brats and cold beverages there. No beer will be served to minors, sorry guys.:crying

But I have always wanted to have a get together at my favorite place on Earth. If you have never been to Road Ameica, you are in for a treat.

Im asking whoever wants to come to the get-together if they would RSVP by the 17th. That way I can get enough food and beverage for all.

I was considering having people bring food if they wanted to, but that can be a PITA. If you want to slide a couple of bucks my way to cover food, it would be greatly apprciated.......But not nessesary.....Unless you bring your wife and 6 kids....:durr

The touring has the above rules- err suggestions... yeah OK.............:stare

During the touring session I did the the other week Yoosef, we were hitting 120 into T1 and T5 and had some very good runs in & out of the turns. I didn't want to go any faster in this type of event- yes still a bit of mph left on the table. Granted I had light traffic and was with a good 'fast pack' with decent drivers who actually knew what they were doing.
I was able to get 11 laps in the session- which for touring is pretty damn good
Trying to catch up to the pace cars is fun:banana
