Jesus, that is coming out of a Civic? You sure are doing something right because those are some bad ass numbers. I might have to buy an import.....

Check your plugs. It looks like you have some detonation going on by the looks of the graph. Could possibly be weak valve springs too.

The car Rocks. I was next to him when he hit it lastnight, my kid started crying. Who knows, maybe they were tears of joy.:rolf

The car has MAJOR traction problems. Thats to be expected out of a 600 Hp FWD car though. The car spools very quick. Some of these V8 guys are going to have their hands full with this car this year. I like this civic. Nice job Jeremy. You have a little rocket. I want to be at GLD when you bring it so let me know.

building boost at 4 grand is pretty good for the size turbo im running and reving to over 9 grand is no hoe.

civic600
07-16-2006, 10:47 AM
yeah there is deff. something wrong there
the plugs were shot after making all the pulls i did, thats why it started breaking up at over 9 grand. it was alot of boost to hold for that long so the plugs needed to be changed b4 that last pull. theres nothing wrong.... i had one of the best guys in the country dyno/tune the car. it runs awesome, but i can see why u would think theres a problem.

What caused the plugs to go bad? Usually detonation is what burns up spark plugs. Were they too hot of plugs or not enough octane maybe? Either way, once you straighten that out you can expect an improvement in the horsepower department.

Hello, we built the engine and I personally was at the dyno. The real story is we regapped the plugs several times during the dyno session checking the plugs looking for the ignition transition on the ground strap to make sure we were at a safe timing level. The SAME plugs were used the entire time and the plugs that were dynoed are in the car as we speak with no signs of wear. The graph that civic600 posted is the graph used to tune with the smoothing at 0!. Here is the real graph with it at 5 like most people post.

Civic600...wow... I'm impressed.

My only bit of advice for you at the 1/4 is to add some extra weight to the front end, as far forward as you can go. This will really help you with traction.

BTW- How does that compare to tri's old teg?

it makes more power than tri's old car I think tri made right around 500 wheel but I can't remember the exact number.

civic600
07-20-2006, 08:01 PM
yeah tri's car put down 500 with a bigger turbo than mine. i believe he had just a 1.8L but not positive with a gt35r turbo i belive. i would love to run against his car sometime so we will see. ive heard he has put down very good numbers at the track, so i guess we'll just have to see how i do. still learning how to drive the car with this insane clutch. not to brag, but i think i could beat that car considering i have 100hp more and a better setup as far as a 2L spooling a sc61 turbo compared to a smaller 1.8L with a big gt35r

Nice #'s! Traction will be a huge problem, you'll probably run 12's @ 130 something first time out, like that 650 whp green del sol.

Why the std dynojet #'s, I wonder how much higher it reads than sae??

well a 35r is not that big of a turbo it is still a T3 and with ball bearing it gets spoolin pretty quick, but I think you would take the teg. I would just make sure you got some nice slicks on when you hit the track cause you are going to have some traction issue to boot.

yeah i wouldnt doubt 12's, im still learning how to drive the car with this insane clutch in it. ima run 24 1/2in. wide slicks and see what happens. as far as the dyno graph goes the "correct" hp is 597. im shooting for really low 11's for this yr, and by next yr if i can drive the car good enough it will go high 10's

very true, but its a pretty good size turbo for a car with not much displacement. granted it is ball bearing i would think mine would spool alittle quicker and gain boost more rapidily.
