I was looking through a magazine and saw a picture of this thing. Wanting to know more, I searched the web for a vid and wiki info.
The Falkirk wheel is a boat lift in Scottland which operates in a very efficient and unique manner. It uses only 1.5 killowatt hours of energy to move 600metric tons 105 ft in 4 minutes, which is about $0.15 in WI energy prices. The whole works is only powered by a 30 hp electric motor (22.5 watt).
