I am so glad I have a bunch of E-4's and below to do that now! But I did my years doing it too. It sucks but is part of military life. As sure as you are the sun will rise you can bet your a** you will be doing something you don't like to everyday in the army!

Are you intentionally being as vague as possible? Come on...tell us what branch you're in, what you do, where you do it. I love to see some pics. I miss the sand box...

Former Marine here. "New" Corps. Last unit I served with was 2nd FAST Yorktown, VA

Wifey prevented me from being a lifer. Apparently the amount of time I spent on the road with FAST was to much.

Rick

Wish I was back in the Corps though, miss it alot.

Yeah but for more then one reason. I am done with this Infantry crap though. My bodies all busted up. Of course everything is delayed onset so uncle sam claims no responsibility. I'm going air force! Air guard more specific. Better tech jobs and closer to home too.

Just to keep you old Leathernecks up to date: We refer to "Old Corps" as the ones who wore the old style of cammies, and "New Corps" to the ones who were issued the digital cammies.

I'm a single SGT (meritorious CPL and SGT) with BAH, and have plenty of cash for toys and am about 8 months away for my bachelors degree. I can't believe they pay me to do my job, I love it so much. So I re-enlisted for a multiple of 2 and an advanced school. Got back to the fleet 3 months ago and bought a house. I'm going to put in my WO package next year and every year until I get it. I should be a Gunner within the next few years. Deployments are awesome, I've met so many great people, seen/done so much cool crap and been to so many awesome places. The best part is taking care of/mentoring.teaching my Marines. If you ever wanted the definition of "lifer", that's me.

We did the same thing back when I was in:
Non-speed laced boots/Big collared cammies = Old Corps
Speed laces and Woodland cammies = New Corps

(meritorious CPL and SGT)You apple polisher :), wait I mean...hard charger! I got a freebie...meritorious LCpl. They gave them out like cookies.
