...was eclipsed today :alcoholic :banana :banana1: For the 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 4.0 I6

The only major repair was a tranny rebuild at 235,000. Sure, I rebuilt the transfer case at the same time...but it was more for peace of mind. Could have easily gotten away with just doing the chain, and maybe even skipped that.

Still develops 40+psi of oil pressure unless it's really hot and has been running all day...has dropped to 18psi at idle in those situations. The rebuilt Tranny works like a dream, the AWD system rides better than ever (Hey, it's the reigning 'WinterDrags' champion :goof ). Good AC and decent stereo to boot.

Oh well, thought I'd share. It's about to go from daily driver duty to winter beater duty (despite being clean everywhere but the front hood).

Hmmm....one wonders what my new DD will be....:devil

Just jinxed yourself :goof

Heh, I'm halfway there in a DSM with only the tranny pump dying at 150k, that's gotta count for something.

Those I6 jeep motors are tuff. It's still got 65,000 miles to break the family record of 365,000 by my/dad's/grandfather's ramcharger with a 318...thing is, I think this one will...my 318 at this point had about 5psi of oil pressure at idle and was WAY down on power...did the 1/4 in 19.4 sec @ low 70's/high 60's, whereas at 200,000 miles was in the 18.2's range @ mid 70's. I should run the jeep for fun....

Nice! So what will the new dd be?I can't believe that I'm doing this...but I'm looking at FORD's! MUSTANG'S no less! With the freakin' MOD motor! :wow

The world is going to hell in a handbasket. That'll be the seventh sign. :goof

When I get back from up north, I'll take it out....don't worry. It's slow.

Nope, racing in low range gave me too much of an advantage...and new winterforce tires coming in the fall, which is better in the deeper, unplowed stuff imo ;)
