Has anyone here recycled metal or steel...I wonder if one can bring it somewhere for some money, like people did back in the day with aluminum soda cans :D(maybe they still do). I have a few car steel items not worth much, but not sure if anyone would take them or if it would get much back to make it worth while.

I hear a commercial on 102.9 all the time for Action Metals. They seem very eager to buy any kind of metal.

Here's a list of what they take:

I'm sure they'd take aluminum/steel rims/manifolds/etc. as well?

I have gone to action metals on state. Rates are decent, I had a 30 gal bag of crushed soda cans and I got like $9 for it. The lady said you can call them anytime for the current scrap rates.

My brother just took in a bunch of scrap steel from his job and got a decent amount for it. Pretty sure he went to action also.

There's also a place on 20th and Morgan, I think it's called A-1 Recycling, or something like that. I haven't been there in years, but I do remember bringing cans there. BTW, is your shopping cart/mobile home full of cans already? :rolf

There is a place on National ave. at about 70th street, south of Pick'n Save. Another one is on Industrial rd. east of 76th street. Industrial is south of Good Hope.
