View Full Version : Do you race for $$$??

The title is a question Im asking all you gearheads.

Seeing that the majority of members here with ''FAST" cars like to race their cars in a straight line, be it the street or GLD, I figured this might be an interesting poll.

Recently a person threw out a challenge to certain people with certain cars, but said they would only race for $5000. Intreaging to say the least. I will comment what I think about this challenge later in the thread. So I wont influence anyones vote.:durr

Of course Im not talking about orginized events that do or do NOT pay you $ to win. Like Import Wars or Nitrous Street Car BRAWL at GLD, SCCA Autocross, Slinger, Road America events, so on and so forth.

Im talking on the street, or maybe at a RSD event, or even meeting a person down at GLD for a Grudge race.

SHOW ME THE MONEY???????????:shades

BTW.......No street stories!!!! Otherwise this has to go NWS.

No, I do not race for money on the street only in organized events such as CCS or AMA series events.

There usually is no un-biased control factor in a public street race. That would be a no for me.

Edit: And my car is low... I would lose all of my money:rolf :rolf

I have a pretty good sense of whats faster than me. So I only would when I know the other car is slower. The game gets harder in 12 second cars and faster in my opinion.

I have never gambled on a car race though. When I race, its so I know where I stand against that car with those mods.

Why isn't there a "No...because my sh!t is too slow" option?

Even if I had a fast car, you wouldn't catch me runnin it anywhere besides GLD. And Even then, I doubt I would race for bread.

No need to race for money. Though, I suppose I would...sort of. I can see the loser buying the winner a burger or something, but nothing more then like $10. But then again, I just would race other cars for fun, win or lose, but ONLY at GLD.

Hey, Madison Dave, if you read this want to race for $5000 on the 16th? :goof:
