This has been asked many times. Slinger is the closest.

What's the difference with un-leaded race fuel compared to leaded......?

there's lead in the good stuff, the higher octane. not supposed to run it in newer vehicles, 02 sensors don't like it and such

I get Rockett 111 fuel from JOHNNY'S SERVICE & C-STORE W 17871 JANESVILLE ROAD MUSKEGO, It's the same stuff from the same distributor the Slinger stations sells.

Might be closer for you guys?

So how much is this unleaded race fluid per gallon these days. It may be worth it for my GP.

I was at Johnny's this last weekend filling up and it is $4.99 / Gall. Nice thing about Johnny's is you can fill your car from the pump, no can.

The fuel at Johnny's contains lead. The highest octane level of "unleaded" is 100 that I have ever seen. GLD used to sell the unleaded 100 octane but don't know if they still carry it.

They had it as recently as last year. I don't see why they would have gotten rid of it...

Although I thought there was another place somewhere locally that had it as well. North side of Milwaukee maybe??? J and I tried to find a place up there last year but weren't successful.

yea can anyone provide any info on this? There is supposed to be a gas station (a Citgo I thought) on N76th that was supposed to have 100 unleaded

I had to go to Slinger last year....100 octane unleaded. If you have cats or O2 sensors, don't touch leaded. I heard the rumor of the place on N 76th too, it was false...at least last year it was.

I heard a rumor that Denso or someone has developed an O2 sensor that will work with leaded and unleaded, but I haven't been able to find it yet. Anyone know more info on this?

StreetBlazeā„¢ 103 is the highest octane unleaded street-legal fuel in the U.S. This 103 octane (R+M/2) fuel provides power and protection equal to some leaded racing fuels. Typically allows turbo engines to raise the boost from the stock 8-10 lbs. to 20-25 lbs. Although street legal in many states, StreetBlaze 103 is not legal in those states that restrict the use of MTBE. Customers should check local regulations prior to use.

You would have to buy this stuff by the barrel though, Wolf & Sons has lots of race fuels.

The place on 76th is off of Lincoln. A Citgo that has 110, but they won't turn on the pump if you plan on pumping it into your car. HAVE to bring cans

its not going to destroy your O2 sensor instantly or anything. The lead in the race gas will contaminate your sensor, causing it to fail.....in a time frame SHORTER than normal. Thats all. The lead is a substance that the O2 sensor was never designed to deal with.

I say someone should buy that LPE O2 sensor and let us know how it works.....could be valuable to many people on this board.

the denso ones have been working quite well in the GN community and atleast i know of in the LS1 nitrous community. Remember reading a number of posts with positive things on ls1tech. They still fail quicker than a stock o2 in a stock situation, but they last longer than a stock one with leaded gas

VP 103 unleaded is about the best unleaded racegas I have found, but noone in town keeps it in stock. I just had a buddy of mine oder me 2 drums of it when he was ordering all his 116 octane leaded for his racecar, but its not cheap ($7.50 a gallon). I can get the stuff regularly, its just not cheap. It works awesome though. I can run 15psi on 93, 21 psi on 103, and 34psi on 118 :)

agreed... also leaded fuel will gum up your catalyic converters!!!

I get my race gas from motorsports factory... they can order whatever you want and however much! They sell VP which was mentioned earlier... go to there site and check it out!

For those with Grand Prix's Denso makes a O2 that you can run leaded fuel(if you run without a cat.) http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_prix/products1.php?id=417
I run Rockett brand leaded 114 that i get at EH Wolfe and sons in Slinger.
