i wonder what kind of driving condition it is in, such as tires, belts, hoses, engine internals. that is a long time to let a car sit, but a really cool car though.

Actually I don't think it was driven at all except for off the transporter and on to the trailer of the person that bought it.....

Been there done that! You can't do anything with it! My dad had one for 6 years and all it did is sit.

That's a damn nice car, but I would rather spend $30,XXX and have one that I would drive daily in the summer..

Tolken buick on 27th got a GNX in when I was at the A&W. We high tailed it over to see them unload it. Old man Tolkan was out there when we showed. Told them to roll it off the truck, get the floor jacks and rags (didn't want to scratch it!) and get it inside. He then turned to us and said "Unless you kids plan to buy something, get off my lot"

I assume the car is still owned by them... I think it was a pretty low number car also.

Never even registered!!!! You guys are looking at it all wrong. If you had millions of $$ you wouldn't be worried about driving that, you'd have plenty of other cars to drive.

That's awesome... Similar to the 67'??? Camaro at the Aloha show with 19 miles on it that they were doing a full restoration on... I would be one of those people that would want to drive the car though... So something like that wouldn't work for me...

really?? i could. here is what i would do..

lets say that Dodge was going to release a car and they would only make 500 of them.if i was to get ahold of one (New) iwould drive it home and park it. never tobe moved again. i would once a week start it and let it run for an hour.. once a yeariwould change the oil.. and i would jack it up and move the tires a bit to make sure it didnt get flat spots.. id hold on to it for like 30 years or so.. now your say lets say 60 years old... 30 years has passed and the car that they made only 500 of is down to like 300 give or take. can you imagine the money that you could make.. you could make 100K + for something that you bought for 30K-40K...it would be a very smart investment i think that this guy is very smart

Oh yeah, no kidding, without a doubt. If I had the money sitting around I would buy two.... but if you think about it, say the car is 30k, you hold it for 30 years... the storage costs would be pretty high, making sure everything goes right, and keeping up work on it, for an extra 100k 30 years later? Break 100 grand down over 30 years, thats only about 3k a year... for a POSSIBLE win... I dont think I would ever let it go if I held a car for 30 years.

My grandma built a house about 40 years ago, for $16,000 w/ the property, and today its worth over $300,000... a home is a much better investment than a car, to be honest.

I want to get my hands on another GP (GTX/GTP, or Pacecar-GTP/X) but they are so hard to find in perfect condition with low(er) miles... especially the 2dr's

I had a hell of a time finding mine!

Oh, well its 1am and I am just blabbing on here, so I mise well hit submit reply and see how it turns out without previewing it :thumbsup

Similar situations are not rare...

My boss's mother has a first gen Camaro convertable which has rarely been moved in the past 20+ years. The miles are low and the condition is pristene. According to the guy, someone offered them $1,500 a few years ago for just the window sticker. He is not car-savy, so all i heard from him was that it was the 'big engine' and he used it for his senior prom.

Apparently, his mother will not part with it and it does not see the road that often. She does like to talk about model railroading though.

You know what would happen, after you would have the car for 20+ plus years your garage would start on fire and your insurance would pay you crap for it.. Thats the luck I have..

If I were to buy it I would drive it...I cant justify spending money on anything and not using it. I mean if a guy who I met this past july drives his Saleen ranger (1 of 7 that exhists) every day in the summer, knowing that if it gets hit he cant fix it, then I can drive a GNX on the weekends

One of the many things that are. Some just don't understand that after seeing the Barrett Jackson auction though.
