I have the opportunity to pick up a cheap 98 'ro v6. I know they have the 3.8L but can you bolt on the m90 supercharger from an SSEi or GTP? Has anyone had any experience with this? Yeah, I know it's only a v6 but the car will basically be free...thanks for any advice.

The pistons and the cylinder heads are different. You could swap the entire motor pretty cheap though. My friend bought one 3 years ago with a tranny, for 11 hundred. If you just need and engine/harness/ecm. It shouldn't be that expensive. I personally think this would be a cool swap. Hope this helps.

i looked at this for quite awhile, researched extensively, the mounts supposidly are slightly different too. clearance issues come in to play also.

A serious concern might be whether the supercharger clears the cowl back by the firewall. And the intake in to the SC is sucking from the wrong side, but you could re-route that.

I was at the book store last week. I happened to leaf through an issue of performance pontiac ( I think it was) They had an article on a gm test mule. It was a 93 ws6 ta with a 3.8 supercharged motor with a t56 behind it. It can be done. I don't know how much work it was though.

Thanks guys, I was worried about clearance also (FWD vs RWD). I already have my big bad ls6 maybe I should keep the v6 stock and spend the money elsewhere (like tranny, rear end, driveshaft, nitrous etc :headbang ).

We'll see how this deal goes through and I'll be back!!! Thanks again

it wouldn't be all too hard, if you can watch e-bay AUS and score a L67 blower rom a commodore (4-door monaro/GTO) as they had a L67 mated to the 4L60, and the throttle body of course was in the correct orientation for the RWD setup.
