View Full Version : 1992 Integra LS hatch stick

My integra is an LS hatch, 5spd, grey interior, grey exterior. It has about 189k on it and the only modification is the lower silencer box has been removed.

There are a few minor issues, none of which affect its reliability: antenna stuck in up position, right rear speaker does not always work (bad connector behind radio), front right half shaft clicks while turning, exhaust rattle (heat shield), etc... The only issue that I am not going to deal with is that you cannot 'jam' it into third anymore, it needs to be eased into third. Normal driving is not affected, only when shifting into third when the revs are over 6 k in second gear, it gets a bit rough.

I would also like to take care of some of the issues before I sell it.

I bought the car a little less than 2 years ago and have put 65,000 miles on it since. I have been using it for pizza delivery, but the number of cold starts was minimal because the car never cooled down between deliveries.

The value of this car seems to reside in a variety of aspects. One of the biggest is that it is good on gas. It is rated for 31 mpg in stick, but yesterday, I topped it off around noon, drove from the Mobile at Moorland and Blue Mound to Cedarburg (33 miles), then drove to mequon (8 miles), drove 58 miles delivering pizzas, then drove to hwy 100 (21 miles) and did a lap there (5 miles). At $2.89/gal, I put $10.40 (3.6 gallons) in my car to top it off. This means I managed 34+ mpg with city and hwy combined.
[125 miles / 3.6 gallons = 34.722 mpg]

Besides economy, this car is potent. 140 hp on a 2700 lb car is a very decent power to weight ratio. The suspension is firm, which makes it handle very well. It can easily outrun civic EXs with intakes, headers and exhausts. People do not believe me when I say it is stock.

I'm thinking $2000 is a good price. <<< this is what I really want to get for it.

I'm primarily interested in doing the belt myself (it would be fun!) than out of necessity. The current belt was installed at 92k, so it does have some life to it.

One other thing: the clear is flaking on the roof and the hatch.

Bumped again.

What do you people think about this car? Any issues that I am not aware of?

BTW- $50 donation to BCM if I sell it off this site.

with 189k, yeah, 2k is a BIT to high, even for a super clean car

With those miles looking at $1200.00 MAX

I'll lower it to $1700 then. $1200 is just way too low; I'd rather keep it.

Any takers @ $1700 as-is? I'll do the t-belt for a bit more.

BTW- I'll drop the price if someone wants to work out some kind of a trade such as a 'beginner' motorcycle or a light duty trailer.

The people at the acura/honda dealership said that the t-belts are usually good for +150k miles and have been known to pass 200k regularly. Because the belt was replaced around 90k, it should be good till at least 240k.

100k, and when you do the Tbelt, you do the H20 pump too. interuption motors, its just not worth destroying a whole motor

Are you willing to do $1300

No Way! This car is worth more than that. Even with its age, it is still a potent little machine and it is built to last. Mabey I'd ask that much if it was an old cavalier or escort.

The whole 9 yards was done on it at 90k by an acura dealership. When I was looking around to have someone do the belt last winter, a mechanic at Acura of Brookfield said that the water pumps rarely fail on Integras and he did not reccomend it. BUT, if someone wanted me to do that, I could.

did you mean "interferece" motors? Yes, this is one of those cars. Between 91 and 92, there was a higher lift cam installed resulting in 10 more hp.

You guys that say it's not worth the money are crazy. Put that car on autotrader. You'll sell i in less that a week. $2,000 is a good price. WHAT DO YOU GET FOR 2 G's THESE DAYS? Nothing and deffinatly nothing reliable.

FYI, I sold my base model 90 integra for $2,000 with over 200k on the clock and I think I could have gotten more if I didnt need a quick sale.

Don't let these goofs fool you Al.:goof We are not talking about an escort here. It's an acura product. Even with miles, they pull the money as long as they are clean.

Thanks for the advice. I remember you posting about that when I first bought the car.

The car is still for sale, but I might recomission it (move about 20 lbs of stuff into it) in the next few days while i replace the clutch on my A4.
