I think it was 325hp to the wheels or the crank, can't remember.

FFVETTEMAN would have to fill us in.

That car scoots and is not that loud at all. Its great when JP has to explain that the car is 'only stock' when the kids want to know whats all done to it.

Hey guys . The Hp on the ZR-1's were 375HP for 90-92 (the one in the pic is a 90) and 405HP for the 93-95.

There is a key inside that will turn from "normal to "preformance" by opening the secondary 8 injectors. So under normal it will run on 8 injectors and performance it will run on all 16.

I think I am going to take mine out tonight. I'll get to Oscars sometime after 8pm, but got to leave at about 945pm.

Hope to see some of you out there!

My blue 84 sounds alot more insane than the Zr-1, but the Z is a hell of a lot faster. The exhaust is all stock on the Z, along with the rest of the car.

Ill be out tonight as well around 9:30 or so.. doi you have the mode where it only revs to like 2500 for valet mode or somthing. i heard this i just didn't know for sure. and also i forgot who made these engines?? overseas right?

J.P whats up... We should hit BW3's sometime? You down John?

The blue one is mean sounding, but the Z is wicked in acceleration.

I think the LT5's were made in Germany if my memory serves me correct.

The LT-5 was made by True American Rednecks in Stillwater OK at the Mercury Marine plant. Yes the same people who make boat engines. GM selected there becuase they has a lot of experience with all aluminum engines and a very clean enviroment for the engines to be hand assembled in. They also were better suited for the low production numbers, since only 6500ish ZR-1's were made all 6 years.

The motor was designed by Lotus of England with Mercury Marine and GM of Canada.

All the engines were built between 1989 and 1992. They made the amount to cover the cars to be produced and the crate engines to be sold over the counter and used as warranty replacements.

Thats all I can think of off the top of my head right now, but what do I know!! :rolf

Also, the engines were shipped to the Bowling Green plant as they were needed to be put in the cars on the assembly line.

It's a shame they did not put that motor into mass production.
