kind of a throwaway car, but with 190hp, 160ft/lb and a 7400RPM rev limiter, they are fun. I had a friend with a quad442. it was a quick little car.

little spray and sticky tires, I'm sure that can easily be a 13 sec car.

We had a Q4/5speed Calais back in the day. Fun little car and would like to have another someday.

i don't really like quad, because of the probelms, but iw ould not mind having this at all.this was a very quick for its time. even today it can still hold its own. i think mid-high 15s stock easy.

The only Quad problems I had were self induced or neglect. My 89 Calais Was perfect till I hydrolocked it but banzai-ing through a puddle that was MUCH deeper than it looked. Replaced the engine and it had 230k+ on it when we sold it.
The Achieva was a victim of not checking the oil, took out the bearings. Guess it didn't like being 2 quarts down:rolf

got a few buddies with quad 4 cars... if you take care of 'em they seem to hold up alright...

the w41's are badass though... tried racing a buddies w41'd beretta gtz... ummm he pulled on my little neon like i was standing still....(before i knew what a w41 was) and i had just kept even with him on the stock q4 head the week before... i was like WTF!!! lol

Try 12's. Just as Jake (killerquad4). He even cracked 11's.

I've got a 93 GrandMa with an SOHC quad 4 pushing 208,000 miles now. So far, I've only had to put in a water pump. Not fun.

And I autocross it.:headbang

Slowly.:loser

My gosh the interiors back then were lame.
Just think, this was the first real high output 4 banger.
Honda stole this technology from GM....Honda just made sure all of their specs were within tolerance :)

Working at a Pontiac dealership in the early 90's, come winter time every heavy duty mechanic had a quad 4 in each of their stalls for head gaskets. Grand am after Grand Am. was actually pretty funny to see. I bet they'd do 60 head gaskets a month from Dec to Feb.

Personally I never thought much of the engine. I never drove one and was impressed by it. But I know some people have been able to make them quite fast so there must be something there. It was atleast an improvement on the ol Iron Duke. lol

I've only heard bad things about the Quad 4 for reliability...and no thats not from Olds/Pontiac haters or anything ;). Helped my parents avoid a nice Acheiva due to the motors reliability problems, or at least perceived problems...

My brother had a early 90's Kwad-Fur, never had a problem with it, only thing he ever had to replace was normal maintenance stuff :goof lol 1/1,000,000

Never had any problems with headgaskets on the 4 that my family has owned. Had to replace a water pump on once...but thats it. Had more problems with my wifes 3400 V6 Alero.
