weld the rear diff? Like weld the spider gears together? (ultimate cheap ass locker) or the axle tubes to the housing?

lincoln locker! Just wad up beads in between the teeth of the spiders gears in the diff. No need to melt everything in the carrier.

I hope it's not a street car. If so, you're going to hate it after a while. You can get a new clutch type limited slip from Reider Racing for about $500.

Do it for free if you take the diff out of the car.......

How will you turn onto the highway? Especially in the wet! Will this help or amplify torque steer?

Yeah dude...VERY dangerous to weld the diff like that. More times than not, all you'd have to put up with is some bucking and chirping in the corners, especially tight ones. However, the danger is that in certain circumstances, and especially as speeds increase, that can lead to loss of control, and rollovers are especially common with welded/spooled/mini-spooled rear ends.

If you are going to go through the hassle to even take the rear cover off, then at least do it the right way...get a limited slip, or if you make a TON of power, a true locking diff.

Go to the junkyard and find a 87.5 or up Z31 Turbo they have a LSD or get the Z32 LSD ;)

Yeah, good luck finding a '87-'89 CLSD! IF you do find one, the prices are around $350-$500 (I got lucky on mine). But that is for a used differential! If you are thinking about spending the money, buy new from Reider Racing. If you are thinking cheap, DO NOT weld up those spider gears, you will regret it.

If you go Z32 (VLSD) it is a whole new can of worms ($$$$).

no i dont have $ and ya i would need half shafs from a 88 shero and ya i dont want to spend a **** load of $.

You would only need the half shafts from the SS if you got the '88 VLSD. We're talking about the '90-'96 Z32 differential, called the R230. But that is a pricey upgrade. I say just leave the differential alone, get some drag radials and adjust your driving style a bit.
