My name is Tim Bindas, I am a co-founder of www.HirevWI.com. I told Yooformula I would stop on here and post pictures of my car after I finally got it running. The car is a 91 honda civic hatch back. I have a lot done to the car including but not by any means limited to b18a1 motor, integra wiring harness throught the car, integra guage cluster, eg (92-95) civic seats, custom motor mounts, RS*R exmag gt2 exhaust, dc sport 4:1stainless header, skunk 2 short throw, custom built shift linkage, 2000 civic si wheels, integra suspension which includes everything except the civic front lcas, radius rods and cross member. All of the suspension was sand blasted, acid dipped, ecoated and powdercoated; Energy Suspension master bushing kit, all of the rest of the bushings, ball joints, bearings, spindles, tie rod ends, bolts, etc. were all new oem honda parts, ARP extended wheel studs with open ended lugs, Goodridge stainless braided brake lines, integra master cylinder, booster and proportioning valve, ebc green brake pads, brembo blank rotors, Megan racing front and rear upper and lower strut tower bars, Tokico Illumia 5 way adjustable struts, H&r springs, optima dry cell battery, blah blah blah I could continue for ever...

Long story short, I let Yooforumla take a cruise around the block downtown with my hatch the day i got it running after dropping like $4000 over winter on all of my suspension mods. He told me to post some pictures of the car and the mods... well here is a picture from last year

Well... the night that Yossef (if thats you how spell it, sorry man if it is wrong) drove my car I was on my way home getting on the broadway on ramp for 794 south and my tire blew out on me and i hit the wall. Car is totaled and here are the pictures.

I had 104 miles on the car when I crashed it, luckly my si wheels were not on there, although it was the **** tires that I had on the car that blew out on me, so it was kind of a catch 22... but I am looking for an 88-91 honda civic hatch or crx if anyone knows of one in decent shape for sale, it can be just a shell.

Man that sucks, that was one clean civic. Atleast most of your parts are still good. A fresh rust free shell and some time, you'll be back in business.

Thanks for the link to the civic, I found one in MI that he wants 200 bucks for. It red and in good shape minus the typical rust. For right now I am holding off on everything. I had way too much time and money invested in that car and I am going to take a break this summer from any big projects (except hopefully tearing it down) and then i am going to try to finish building my LS-VTEC motor before next summer.
ps Jake, im me and we will fix it

to bad you had a pretty clean hatch, ill buy your springs and struts off of you if your going to part anything on the car. i have a georgia shell 91 hatch as a daily driver with an ls swap and si wheels too, wierd.

Sorry for your loss. That really stinks, it's good to hear that knowbody got hurt. I spun my hatch out on some ice awhile back when first got it. I hit the median on the freeway @ 45ish in the middle of winter on the passenger side. Drove away with zero damage. It was a miracle!

well... IDK yet, but I was sitting at the shop thinking about parting out the hatch the other day... and then i decided that i might take on another little project. This summer I am going to work on rebuilding both of my transmissions, rebuilding my spare spare motor (yes i have 3 motors)that burns oil, finish building the LS-VTEC motor, then... if I do not find a good donor car I build myself a honda powered gocart... I have been considering it for a while, but I never could bring myself to commit the time. Here is my idea for those of you who are saying... this kid is crazy or stupid or a little (or a lot) of both... I would start by building a motor stand with removable legs that mounted to the 3 aftermarket motor mounts i use, and potentially a 4th modified Energy Suspension transmission mount. I would then cut up my harness in the hatch now because it is an obd0 harness modified for obd1 and i have an obd1 harness from another integra laying around my shop already for my next project and run it through the tube frame which would allow me to hide the ecu somewhere and also use the guage cluster from the teg/civic (I already have an integra cluster in my civic). This way it would look kind of stupid, at first but then I could basically build the cart around the car, I would use the existing front suspension and build camber and caster adjustment plates into it, i would use the existing lcas and instead of a steering rack the tierods ends would screw into the frame so i could adjust toe. Then it would be rwd... A small fuel tank could be fabricated to mounted either under the driver seat or my personal favorite, around the back of it I would just end up running an open header unless it became too loud then i would build some form of muffler that bolted to my dc header. as far as throttle and brakes go, i would plasma cut out the hatch's firewall either use it or use it as a template and mount the brake booster and master cylinder up in front and use one of the many spare pedal assemblies that i have laying around. I would run the clutch and throttle cable through the tube frame but i would probobly leave the brake lines and fuel lines external. I have a spare 91 civic passenger seat laying around, otherwise i have 2 plastic bucket seats that i currently use for chairs that I would forfeit towards the cause. I am still trying to figure out what i would do about front steering, but my idea is a little bit of a wild one... I would dissassemble a set of rear trailing arms, there is a piece that bolts to the rear trailing arm that connects the rear trailing arms to the rear spindles, and then I would use some more of the suspension parts i have laying around to blueprint out a custom front knuckle that i could bolt up to and that would allow me to use a shortened/modified civic manual steering rack... idk im still trying to figure this part out...It sounds too complicated for me, I like things simple. I think it would be more realistic to just fabricate a simple rack but i would like to have struts/springs and i want to be able to use honda rear disc brakes on the front. But I would like to at least get the rear end built because I would be able to use it to store one of my spare motors and if I got it to be a stand that i could run a motor on I know i would start building a cart around it eventually.... just a wild fantacy, I doubt it would go anywhere... but thats the same thing i said about that shitty little 91 civic hatchback that burned oil really bad that I started working on a little over a year ago ;-)
