Here is a challenger we did. This car won first place at Mopars at the Strip in Las Vegas a few weeks back. The paint is incredible. And it's a 5 Speed. :headbang

Awesome car! I'm sure it looks even better in person! So, do you restore these cars for clients, or buy to restore and sell or what? It sounds like you guys do alot of awesome over there! I'd love to take a tour of the place sometime!

That is EXACTLY what I want to buy one day. What does something like that go for?

call me a dork, but i REALLY like the radio you chose for it too, the design with the big silver knobs makes it not stick out as being new, i dig it when it does its best to look close to factory.

*guesstimate* prolly $25-50k, depending if R/T or Hemi :)

We've sold restored hemi challengers any where from $200-$300K

To recreate that particular car would be somewhere around $90-$110k

How come there are full rotisserie resto's for half that all over the place? Convertibles even.
I've even seen the Hemi clones for $50-60k. Yea it's a clone, but still alot more desireable.
I'm not knockin ya or anything, you create some amazing looking cars.
Maybe if you broke down what you all put into a $90-110k car, it'd make more sense :)

But why is the Tach by the console?Common mounting spot in the "old days"....not a very logical spot, for sure. Some mount it low to keep the tach hidden

What engine? Looks like a standard mopar crate 360/380...

Depends on how perfect you want it...how much time spent ensure that the fenders/panels/doors are perfectly straight, how much you disassembled, how much powdercoating, etc etc etc etc...the options are endless though. Restorations can be done to beyond perfection nowdays. 1000's of hours are put into the best restorations...and if NOS(New Old Stock) or specific date coded used parts is used, it cost money to have someone track that stuff down and then money to purchase...I mean, it's hard for me to even begin because bodywork like they do truely is beyond my comprehension....

Of course, you could just paint the visible stuff, put no time into the engine bay, lay some carpet over the dash-pad, use body filler for holes or large imperfections, use cheap paint, and do little if any sanding with no clear coat, reuse the old chrome, and do a low-buck rebuild and have a car done for less than 10G, but in the world of restorations, restifications, etc....you get what you pay for, truely.

Aloha truely is one of the better shops around, and thier prices reflect it....

Well said!

We are going to have our employees giving tours of the shop explaining restorations and what we do at the show on may 20th. That I think will open your eyes a little more into the world of $100-$200K dollar restorations. Like Prince Valiant said getting into details adds time and cost into any project. Body work alone can get you into 1000 hours of time.

As far as the motor in the challenger, yes it is a 360/380. Massaged a little. The owners are estatic about the (wife's) car. It was her first car she owned. Her uncle gave it to her as a gift in high school. And she cried when she saw it for the first time completed. I don't blame her....

I was going to comment on Wikked's question, but Valiant and Dan took care of that.

I mean if you think about allllll that goes into it. 100k seems just about right to me.

Look at what guys are spending on motors alone now.
