Thanks for the replys. Doesnt see the weather. And i usally wipe it off every oil change(so about every 1000 miles) plus when im board at home here. Yup thats the 60.00 upgraded cover. It fits perfect, I have a few shots of the clearnce on the panhard rod ill try and get up. Everything bolted right up no issues. Just whines like a *****. Not sure if its because of the New torque arm helping transmit the sound. Definetly a nice peice of equipment. Grease fittings on the axles. The clips for the brake lines. And the stock e brake cable brackets bolt right up to the thing. Couldnt of asked for a better fit.

Nice. What TQ arm is that?

Thanks for the compliments. Its the Sphon ADJ. With the poly mount and drive shaft safety loop. That is the one that offers the most clearance also. Between the exhaust and the cross brace there is about a inch almost of clearence.

Weird seeing a Dana with coil springs. Looks good...I'd think it whines just because you've got stronger harder gears that are naturaully louder.

looks great...

Just whines like a *****. Not sure if its because of the New torque arm helping transmit the sound.

Don't go over 50 mph during break in, and only drive 15 minutes or so at a time before letting it cool down.
Do this the first couple hundred miles and change the fluid after the first 500 miles and you are good.
I have bought more than a couple of axles from Strange and the 'run in' the gears.
'Break in' is for the buyer, and needs to be done under load.
If you go over 50 during break in, the whine may never go away.
HTH.

Wow really nice setup! :wooo

So whats the differences to this compared to a 12bolt? Cost/strength/weight?

A B4C Z
05-12-2006, 12:52 PM
Cost it was Cheaper. Stregth (holds breath) its sposed to be stronger. Weight is 9 pounds heavier than a 9 inch and 17 than a 12 bolt(dont quote me but its very close to those).

Ah sounds like a nice alternative to a 12bolt.

If you dont mind me asking how much did it run? Also were you able to swap your stock brakes over to it without any conversion stuff?

Got it from speed inc on a GP. It was 2052.99 + 65.00 for that cover on it. Then you need a new drive shaft. I got it for 259.99 Chromoly. I went and picked it up and saved on shipping. Shipping can be anywere from 150-250. Most were comming in around 170 bucks i guess. But some were outragous. Strange is only 1 hour and 30 mins away. About 30-40 mins from great america and its a strait shot and right off the freeway.

You will also need backing plates for ls1 cars becuase there pressed on. Those were 153.32 Brand new with tax. So about 2500 bucks and its all ready to literaly bolt right in when you get it. Everything fit super and as you can see there isnt much left stock back there.

Its going for some abuse on tuesday as long as it doesnt rain!!!!!
