I recently had my IROC repainted and the auto body that did it ran my numbers for me. He said that it came back as a W6 and wasn't sure exactly what that meant and he was going to do more research for me on that subject. Does anyone in here know what that may mean?

I think you misunderstood what i was asking. The numbers i am inquiring about are the engine numbers. What does W6 represent? Thats what came back. Supposidly a vette engine woth W6.

Sorry, I just read it again. I guess I was in a hurry last time.

If you car is a 350 TPI then it has the L98 Motor. This is similar to the vette L98 motor but there are some differences like Iron heads, EGR, and I think the cam. I have never heard of W6 in a Camaro before? The closest thing that comes to mind is the WS6 suspension package in firebirds. Below is a link to a F-body VIN and RPO decoder. Just down load it and punch in your VIN, then punch in all the RPO codes from the arm rest / lid on the center console. This will tell you how your car came from the factory. One thing to verify is that the VIN on the arm rest lid matches the one in the window, if it doesnt someone replaced it at some point in time. There used to be a GM site where you could request an original build sheet for a car based on the VIN, not sure if thats still around or not. Hope this helps, if not do some searching on www.Thirdgen.org there is more info there than you will ever know what to do with.
