yeah i was cruisin down sunset on my way to B&M auto parts at about 3:30, and i saw a white mustang (looked to be a early 2000 style v6)on the back of a flatbed with a squad car following it. the mustang had all sorts dirt and grass all over it. anyway, i didnt think of itso i went down to 164 and there were tons of cop cars there diverting traffic. it took me about 15 minutes to get two miles. well atleast i know what happened now

Turns out the guy was a real winner

A man arrested for the robbery of a bank in downtown Waukesha last week got the idea from a television show that left him believing a holdup would be an "easy" way to solve his financial woes, according to a criminal complaint filed Monday.

Nicholas Navarrete told police after his arrest that the television show featured an account of a man who robbed 40 banks without getting caught, the complaint says. But even if Navarrete had not been arrested after a gun battle with police, he likely was doomed because he targeted the bank he uses as a customer and a teller recognized him after he walked through the door wearing his wife's wig, according to the complaint.

Navarrete also was slowed in his getaway, according to the complaint, because he deliberately parked a block away from the bank and was still on foot when he was spotted by police. He was arrested a short time later after a high-speed flight and gun fight, shooting at one point out his car window at a police officer driving beside him, the complaint says.

"I thought it was either him or myself that would end up dead," Navarrete later recalled, according to the complaint.

Navarrete, 42, of Waukesha, was charged in the complaint with two counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment and one count each of armed robbery and fleeing.

The charges stem from the Friday morning robbery of the Chase Bank at 101 W. Broadway in Waukesha where Navarrete took more than $25,000 from two tellers, according to the complaint.
