Ive been thinking about repainting and pullin the kit off my car, to go for that clean unriced look. First off does my car seem/look ricey? Or should I just leave it the way it is and invest more into power? Second does anyone know of any good body shops or someone who paints cars on the side? some body work will have to be done too. I prefer some one on the side so I could help and learn some about body work.
Thanks your tips and advice it's most appreciated.
This is my first thread post.

If the picture is too big to attach, open it up in Paint, and resize it by going to Image > Stretch/Skew, then a certain percentage under 100. Be sure to save it as a jpeg.

If the pic of your car is in your avatar then it is not all that bad. The one thing that I did find fun though with my car when I had the turbo on my 7thgen even though it was not very fast is having a stock exterior can surprise many people. Many times for the few months that it was on my car I would pull up to a stoplight and have some kid in a stock civic, neon, caviler, rsx ect look at me laugh due to the muffler on my car thinking I was a ricer and want to race. However, the most fun was seeing the look on there face as I passed them up or having the bov go off right after I passed them as let up on the gas.

If I where you I would keep the car the way it is due to putting it back to semi stock will cost you some cash to do so and just put some money into the engine. I would PM bee on these boards, or take a trip down to beeyond engineering if you have any questions on what your next step should be for more hp or what they can help you out with, they are really nice guys and are very helpful.

I would say lose the wing and the taillight fin and repaint. I would leave the front and side skirts with some clean wheels but lose the rest and work on the motor.

I agree I don't like the wings or the z3 fenders. I had done all the body work about 5 plus years ago when I was young and foolish. Now I wish I hadn't but im stuck with it for a while, till I can afford to un kit it. Some days I really hate the choices I made in my youth.

Thanks for posting those pics for me, I appreciate it.:thumbsup
So back to the question at hand, Im already working on diching the wings as you can see in the pics. Should I eventually lose the kit too? I hate the fenders but to swap them out I have to lose the sides cuz their molded together. What do you guys think? Go faster or look cleaner?:sniper

seeing the close up picks it would look so much better stock in that color.

Does it look ricey? Yes.
Will it always look "ricey" in 95% of the populations eyes? Yes.
Is it done cleanly? Yes

Choose your path. "rice" is an appearance that a "stock" "normal" looking car doesn't have. People see something different, they see bumps and grooves and holes, by F&F and everything else, people will automatically say its ricey.

You should try to level the running board on the left side.

If you think rice, then it is; but it does not look bad.

I like the side mirrors and the rims and at least its all 1 color and seems to fit fine. I say do whatever makes you feel happy with it not just what others think about it. If you dont act like a ricer with it then it wont be percieved as such.

Get rid of the body kit. Go back to stock look.

TwIzTiD Si
04-26-2006, 08:13 PM
That was my plan to return it to stock. Keeping the same color.
Well then does anyone know of someone who can do body work?
I have an idea of where im gonna take it for paint matching, but I need help on the body work side of things.

Don't worry no hard feelings on any of the comments, I asked for them and 90% of them I agree with...

I personally think the front, rear and rear spoiler are a little too much. The fenders and rims are a LITTLE on the rice side, but not too far. Overall it is still clean though.

You could also sell it and buy another stock one and end up with some extra money in your pocket.

i like the mirrors and wheels but besides that its, pretty riced out to me. I say get rid of the body kit and wings, the fenders too. I would get some EK sideskirts, and stock spoiler. and stock front bumper with a lip or something and it would be a lot cleaner

TwIzTiD Si
04-27-2006, 04:45 PM
Thats the plan,Do EK hatch sideskirts bolt right up? Its gonna be a while before I can afford to do it, But I wanna start buying parts & slowly save up to paint it.
In response to what Al said, Selling is not an option, I looked into it & finding one with a clean body & no rust is rare & coastly, Believe it or not it's cheaper to buy stock parts and paint them.
Also my car is Salvaged & in all escense worthless, unless I find the right buyer...

I wouldn't ditch anything but that front bumper, the rest dont look too bad
