just bought a 87 notch S/C 302 stock short block, and heads, has cam the guy said its a p303 i think its and e or b303 not sure though, powerdyne super 9 psi pully, it doesnt hit 9psi on the boost gage but it hits 7psi at like 5000 rpm, but this isnt my question my question is my fuel pressure gauge is on the hood and it reads 80 psi, at idle then when i floor it it goes back down to like 60-63psi does that sound right? the injectors are blue tops not sure what # thoughs are,

If there light blue bosch they are 24 lbs/hr injectors. They can also be light blue and white.

Dark blue bosch are 35 lbs/hr injectors

blue green are 25 lbs/hr

HOPE THAT HELPED!!! :thumbsup

the injectors arnt the problem the problem i wondering about is the fuel pressure gauge going backwards, 60-63psi wot,80 psi at idle

well... i take it that it has a Adjustable FPR.... and thats the only type of fuel management on it... so... maybe your fuel pump cant keep up with the demand of fuel... I/E your running 80 psi and it wants more at WOT but it cant achieve it... it can only run up to 63psi.... your fuel pump has a lot of pressure but not volume... if you increase fuel pressure with a stock fuel pump its not going to do enough for a motor boosting 9psi... i would check fuel pressure with a actual gauge... see if the one on your hood is correct. Then if it checks out ok, go to the fuel pump. is it stock??? i am not saying this is your problem but from what you have told me that is what i would look at. I will be home on friday... i will come check it out!

the powerdyne S/C comes with a bigger fuel pump for the 9psi kit so idk the pump should be fine and its not running lean the plugs are fine just changed them today, so im thinking its the gauge but not sure wanted to get a another opinion

and the gauge when the engine is off says 10psi, then when i turn the ignition on so the fuel pump is on the gauge goes up then goes back to 10psi where it was the the car was off, and on my t-type the gauge when the key was on the on position the gauge read 40psi and when i shut it off it held pressure so maybe i have a leak in the line or something idk, maybe its the gauge. im stumped. im not sure if thats normal with S/C cars i never owned or dealed with them.

no with the KOEO the fuel pressure should be up to about 40-50psi... when you turn the key off it should hold pressure for a little while (3-10mins) then it will leak back down into the tank. if it is only at 10psi with the KOEO... your fuel pump is weak or is about to go out... or the gauge is messed up.... possibly a leak but you would notice that!

idk i think its the gauge the pump seems fine the car runs great so idk i think im just gonna buy a new gauge and steel braided line

no the car runs awesome i was just wondering if the fuel pressure thing was broke or something idk im new to the supercharged world.

are you running an fmu is the gauge have a fluid filled line ore is it electric. is it hooked into the fuel rail or the fmu lines. the readings are not right

oh yeah and that powerdyne blower will never make the full 9psi they are crap blowers. dont try to run it up past that it will break the belt inside

the line goes right into the rail. i didnt think that was right but im gonna get a new one and try that. unless you think otherwise, and there is no fluid in the gauge it empty. and like i said the key off the gauge sits at 10psi and with the key on the on postion the fuel goes up the goes right back down to were it was at off, then when started it goes to 80 psi the at wot psi is 60-63 psi so idk.

sounds like a gauge issue

Tell Mark302 that. He ran 10's with his.

thanks damon but he is only running 6 psi and he complains about the blower too being a big piece of crap. thats why he will be running a diff. blower this year. also mark has alot more done motor wise than just that dinky blower

Your guage is the problem if the car still runs clean, those are notorious for failing, at idle it should read 38-40ish and at WOT depending on what fuel management unit (FMU) it could read 60+psi.
Try a new guage and also double check the setting if you have an adjustable pressure regulator.
Good luck, Sam
