Not that I buy either. I build my own stuff, but would have to bet that you can bet the customer service going to sh!t

I wonder if Dell will then drop it's GPX or what ever it is thay call their hi end gaming platform? From what I read, this is a good thing for Dell since they lost market share advertising them.

i have dealt with both custermer service depts...dell is usually foreign...and alienwares service is garbage as well.

i do like my alienware laptop though...but trying to get something simple fixed is a hassle.

I hope someday laptops will have a standard form factor so you can build your own.

It is coming, my latest issue of Maximum PC did a story on it. They actually built there own laptop, but where limited on what the could do by the physical body/motherboard they bought.

I have used dells and have had little to no problems with customer service, but then again I deal with them through a business account so maybe they are more co-opertive. Could be a good fit.

that sucks i love my alienware but i hate dell, they are a junk company and i know that first hand from having to slowly replace every single part in my gfs dell over 6 months.

I've heard the quality of the Alienware computers has gone down over the last couple of years. Is that true. I want to eventually get another computer that would be a gaming monster and had been looking at one of the alienware computers with the liquid cooling unit, then I was told about how poor they have been lately. I've also heard about the horror of dealing with Dell's customer service on Opie and Anthony on XM Radio, confirmed to be **** by Lazlow.

That camaro is like a visit to the doctor, except the doctor tells you, you have cancer and you only have 8 months to live.

i have puked in the prelude all over the door and outside of it, in the camaro on the floor, in a cadillac on the floor, on a girl all over her sweatshirt, in a bar, in the bathroom, in the shower, on the floor, at taco bell, the side of the road, hmmm what am i missing?

my alienware sentia is a pile of crap. im very disapointed with it must be why they dont make it anymore...my screen cracked sitting in the back seat of the camaro, it over heats pretty bad, if u grab it in the wrong spot it will shut off...my battery now lasts only 15 minutes and my dvdr/rw drive isnt working at the moment. the service reps are retards and i have called them 3 times...i have yet to have anything fixed yet...they are seriously retarded and no where near worth the $2000 i dropped on it

i worked for dell as a field tech...and that was always the complaint from people was the terrible customer service and that they were from india or nigeria or whatever and they couldnt understand ****.

no mine are. :thumbsup

Roughly, what would you charge for a kick a$$ gaming computer. I've been thinkning of getting a gaming computer for a while now and every person I've asked said to make one myself. I do not have the ability to make one because I'm just a tad above corky when it comes to computers and don't see myself making one, let alone knowing what is needed...

That's a hard question to answer. How fast is a fast car?
How much you want to spend? Or do you want just best bang for the buck? That changes everyday.

My dual core processor was $350 but they get well over $600. Video cards are the same way. It's how much you wanna spend. Any particular game you plan on playing?

Hmm...Thats a good way of looking at it. I currently drive a Taurus, I don't want the computing equivalent to that... I'd like to have something that can handle Battlefield 2, Everquest and Galaxies though, my computer runs those, but not very well.

AHHH i wish i was still in wisconsin to build you guys come computers, iv mostly dealt with rebuilding old computers and selling them cheaper than a gaming video card. I would reali love to be able to build a liquid cooled dual core pro. system one day for my self!

If you call Dell and ask for a supervisor, you'll be rerouted back to the states. If it doesn't work the first time, ask for their supervisor and so on. You'll eventually get someone who you can efficiently interact with.

I agree. Outsourcing Customer Care centers is a big reason for customers churning to other companies. I sure as heck know I get miffed when I call in and get someone I can't understand.
