Why not enter it in a demo derby or roll over contest? Should be plenty of them coming up pretty soon. If it was cheeper I would buy it just for that. Not like you need the battery to stay charged when your just slamming around into other beaters.

How's the body and rest of the car besides the battery problem?

the body is great.minor surface rust but the front fender has a big gash/dent in it.if you replaced the fender the car would almost be spotless.the only other problems i have noticed are the drivers side window doesnt roll down,there is no radio,and the drivers seatbelt doesnt retract but there is a lap belt but you know how effective those are.id love to demo it but like you said id be crushed.it looks like a geo metro took a crap and vw put there logo on it.i have a guy interested from minnesota that wants the car tomorrow but id like to sell locally so if you want to see the car tonight pm me...im free all nite.

Might be just a belt. Voltmeter showed only 12.45 at the alternator. The belt looks pretty bad. I'll try that first before I doing the big block swap. Sweet fogs! :goof

hahaha...yeah i call it "custom lighting"...i got some 2x4s at the house..im sure i could make a nice park bench wing if your interested.like i said it could be something small like the belt but id say do the 1.8T swap.i can get you some info on it if you want.talk bout a freaken sleeper.that was my plans anyway.

oh i know...hope the car works out.if you want to go quattro it isnt hard at all.you get the runnin gear out of an audi 90 i believe and it all works for the most part.oh yeah one more thing....the escort i was driving....youll be seeing alot of it at the strip this year.its not a cosworth but its gunna haul some ass.i think your the first person to see it before the project starts.
