Yes, I have finally figured it out...by playing Gran Turismo 4. There is no safe way to drink and drive kiddies, DON'T DO IT!

Well, I decided to actually have a reason for me drinking, so I decided to find out if me drinking beers affected my lap times on GT4. I haven't played this game in months, so I think I actually got better as the night went on. The track used was Laguna Seca, driving aids were on, but I was manually shifting. I would take best out of 2 laps between each beer, and I used 2 cars both with Medium sport tires...I used a 03 Dodge Viper SRT-10, and the Mines Skyline R-34 V spec, or whatever. The control times were as follows...

Viper: 1:37.223
Skyline: 1:33.670

Now, these are not startling fast, I'm sure I could do better, but I really wanted to drink. So I just settled on those guys.

Beer consumption was 1 beer in approximatly 5 minutes, so approximately every ten minutes I would have another beer.

Beer 1

Viper: 1:39.201
Skyline: 1:37.463

Turn 6 proved that I can forget things very easily when excited.

Beer 2

Viper: 1:40.304
Skyline: 1:33.063

I am ashamed, I am not feelin any effects of alcohol, I just suck at GT4.

Beer 3

Viper: 1:37.636
Skyline: 1:34.245

Nowww I'm starting to remember how to play.

Beer 4

Viper: 1:41.319
Skyline: 1:35.030

I'm starting to feel the effects of the first few beers, but not very much. I'm just not very good at this game.

Beer 5

Viper: 1:40.382
Skyline: 1:36.068

I begin not paying attention to shifts, and forgetting to downshift and upshift at proper times.

In between beer 5 and beer 6, I eat doritos and take a break to hang out with my friends. 30 minutes later, beer #6 was down, along with half a bag of doritos.

Beer 6

Viper: 1:39.564
Skyline: 1:32.468

Beer 7

Viper: 1:36.994
Skyline: 1:35.144

I shouldn't be driving, yet I still threw down a gnarly lap time in the viper.

Beer 8

For beer 8 I threw science to the wind and played a singles game of beer pong, which I totally won, but drank all my beer anyways.

Beer 9

Viper: 1:38.038
Skyline: 1:35.970

Sweeeeeeet

I gave up after beer 9, I was starting to get disgusted by just thinking about Miller Lite, and before you guys call me a lightweight, I bonged over 16 beers in a period of 3 hours. Which is a lot for me, SO LAY OFF!

So average drinking time laps =

Viper: 1:39.179
Skyline: 1:34.868

I plan to redo this experiment at a later date, with a device to test my BAC, so...yeah. I just thought this was kinda fun.
