Is there any touchless carwashes in our area that dont have the things on the ground that you drive up onto or anything? I know I tried one of the ones on rawson and dragged subframe connector all the way thru, lucky I didnt get hungup.

I have a bottle of excel wash but I wanna save it for the ride to Caly.

What I hate about those touchless car washes is they need the PH level to be so high on them to remove the dirt from your car without touching it. It actually strips the wax off of your car. :(

Blah I hate carwashes, they're great if you like swirl marks. Touchless ones generally just get off all the big $hit and strip your wax for you, fine for a pre-wash imho but not much else. Only thing that my black paint sees now is hand washes. Other colors you can get away with it somewhat.

If you really need to wash it, why not do one of those power washer booths for the sprayer and do the wash itself by hand with your own soap. Better that than swirled black paint that looks like ass, imo.

On a side note, I got some good paint maintenance advice from another SM guy (well former SM guy anyways), and it works well on black... but I'm also the guy you see using the cali-duster 3 times a day cause I can't even stand the dust on black lol.

Mobil on Howell and Howard has a new one with nothing on the ground. Works pretty damn good too for a quickie wash.

I used to be all about the touchless...
But Scrub-a-dub doesn't leave any swirl marks or scratches/etc.
They don't use the crap ass material for the rotating scrub-thingers they had back in the 80's. I'm pretty sure it's some sort of microfiber now.
Works pretty damn good, never leaves any dirt.

I like going to the Mobil on 46th and lisbon. They have a little ramp you drive on but you dont move at all until the wash is done. I like the fact that they have that Triple Foam. That stuff works really nice.

Hose is still frozen? :tomato
Just tossing a bucket of water on it doesn't get the soap out of the under-spoiler, rims, wheelwells, etc.

I wash mine in my underground parking area. Some people are lucky enough to have heated garages with drains..
