US:buying an aftermarket shifter for shorter throws
THEM:buying an after-market shifter for the pretty little light

US:Composite parts for light weight and aerodynamics
THEM:Composite Veneer dash trim and gauges

US:Upgrading to a 9-inch because you keep breaking stock rears
THEM:Realizing you built motor wil keep breaking half-shafts forever

US:Functional air ducts to cool the big block
THEM:Six different "cosmetic" air dams in random locations

US:Polishing tail light lenses to bring out the color
THEM:Installing clear tail lights to bait cops

THEM:Six tachs mounted in every line of sight the driver could have

US:Nitrous Oxide
THEM:NAWWWS!!!!!!!!

US:Installing a 12 point cage after breaking into the 11s
THEM:Installing a 12 point cage for more places to mount useless gauges

US:Feeling the car shake froma lumpy cam
THEM:Feeling the car shake from booming bass

US:Comfy stock bucket seats in a 9 second street car
THEM:Back-breaking fiberglass racing buckets in a 17 minute street car

US:Leaving on the third amber light at the strip
THEM:blowing throught red lights on the street

US:Installing subframe connectors to stiffen the chassis
THEM:Connecting the subframes with neon lights

US:Showing off a 500hp Dyno sheet
THEM:Boasting that their 150hp 4 pinger makes more hp per liter

US:Doing a short burnout to warm up the tires before a pass
THEM:Weaving from side to side cause NASCAR racers do it

US:Throttle steer
THEM:Torque Steer

US:Annoyued by the blind spot caused by the blower popping up from the hood
THEM:Annoyed by the blind spots caused by the limo tinted windows, triple deck rear wing, and the HONDA sticker that takes up 3 quarters fo the windshield

US:Staging on the front tires
THEM:No clue because their body kit touches the ground all the way around the car!!!!!!!!

The only good things the imports have is mileage and reliability. Sorry, I'm sold.

My personal response: (no offense to anyone)

ME:1 Sticker --engine builder
YOU:35 Stickers for the little horsepower you already had under the hood for your spark plug wires, serpentine belt, Tornado air filter, and Autozone replacement parts. Don't forget the increased gas mileage for the Tornado!

Me :Keeping a low profile and letting the E.T's tell the story
YOU:Hoping your slammed caprice with 22" dub plus dueces with 4- 15" subs will distract everyone from the time slip

ME:0-60 in 2.8 seconds.
YOU :Sideways to avoid me after your air bags break on one side of your vehicle.

ME: Mild suspension upgrades with little ride height difference.
YOU:Lowering 5 inches and ruining your $500 a piece tires from hitting potholes and curbs.

ME:600 hp on 26psi
YOU: 250 hp on 300+cu/in V-8

ME:Swapping stock 17 inch wheels for 16s to clear trick 13" brakes so I can stop on a freakin dime.
YOU:Swapping stock 14" wheels for 22's despite stock 8" brakes and air suspension.

ME:Boost gauge on a turbo car
YOU:Both gauges on a normally aspirated car with air ride

ME:450ft-lb torque at 5000rpm with 8500 rpm redline
YOU:350ft-lb torque at 3500 rpm with 4200 rpm redline

ME:headers and 3 inch exhaust
YOU:stock peashooter exhaust with twin 5 inch tips

ME:600hp makes for an earth shaking street car
YOU:600 watts per channel makes for an ear shattering street car

ME:buying bigger turbos because I get bored with 500awhp
YOU:buying an after-market underbody neon kit with strobes for the pretty little lights

ME:Composite parts for light weight and aerodynamics
YOU:composite Veneer dash trim, curb feelers and tv's in your headrests

ME:Functional air ducts to cool the intercooler, radiator, brakes, and oil cooler.
YOU:Six different "cosmetic" air dams in random locations -- plus the roof scoop. Don't forget the diamond GRILL in your mouth for good effort -- STUNNA

ME: Going to the races and competing.
YOU:Cruising and burnout contests at car shows because your car is a peg-legged wheel spinner and runs 20 second 1/4 miles @ 70mph, then competing in the event's stereo competitions to feel cool.

ME:"NEW-technology" EFFICIENT 4-cylinder, 200cubic inch, 300hp/liter, fuel injected turbo engine with standalone management.
YOU:"state-of-the-art" TORNADO AIR FILTER ATTACHMENT

ME:Race-class lettering on the rear window
YOU: "no fear" stickers next to your chrome plaque showing off your crew.

ME:Tach mounted on the dash, in the drivers line of sight with the tree
YOU:speedo doesn't work, tach doesn't work, fuel level doesn't work, oil pressure doesn't work, oooohhhh battery voltage gauge works!

ME:Screw Nitrous Oxide
YOU:NAWWWS!!!!!!!!

ME:Installing a 8 point cage after breaking into the 10s
YOU:Installing a 12 point cage for more places to mount your chrome fire extinguisher and more LCD TV Displays.

ME:Feeling the car shake froma lumpy cam
YOU:Feeling the car shake from booming bass

ME:Comfy stock leather seats and full interior in a 10 second street car ON SNOW TIRES
YOU:broken bucket seats in a 17 minute street car

ME:Leaving on the third amber light at the strip
YOU:blowing throught red lights on the street evading the police from a drug bust

ME: Doing no burnout, and out launching you.
YOU:doing a long burnout only to redlight or sleep at the stages.

ME:Throttle steer
YOU:speed bump steer

US:Annoyed by people like you
YOU:Annoyed by the blind spots caused by the limo tinted windows.

ME:Staging on the front tires, and leaving the line with all four tires lighting up the asphalt
YOU:Getting a 15 car hit just to maybe keep up to me.

No harm meant. :thumbsup :banana1: :wooo

Just stating the facts.

There ARE tons of cool imports out there! its just the rice crowd "new breed" kids that wrecked it for the people who have neat cars... I guess when u are intrested in cars, yet have had no background with them growing up... u get the rice we see today... just my observation

Then again so did guys with mullets for F-bodies and G-bodies hahahaha

HAHAHA........There that better? :rolf

I stand by my rating for ya. Threads like this are worthless. I see them all over the net. But I have not seen them here. Until now.

All it does is stir the Import VS DOmestic fight up. Both groups have people that have screwed up their cars royally. But most guys I know work hard to make their cars the best they can be. Import or Domestic.

Most are going for a common goal, just different ways of getting there.

Have a nice day. :punch:

Launch once, break built transmission

Launch 5 times, break 5 transmissions.

Ahhh yes... quite true.

Hopefully 2006 will not bring transmission #6.

..so I'm at school talking with this one gorl about race cars 'n stuff. She was telling me about how her brother works on funnycars and she finally knows what a hemi really is. She drives a Saab and i told her i drive an Integra. The first thing she says after i say that is...

...are you a stupid ricer?

she caught me on that one. I never expected a girl like her to say such a thing. I nearly crapped my pants I was laughing so hard.

Then she had to say 'you know my saad will smoke your integra in a race?'

Never expected that too. I felt salty. very salty. It was true, no denying it.

I need a faster car.

I love threads like this. Poor ricers. CRY ME A FRICKEN RIVER...if you are offended...buy a Domestic car. Not all import drivers or cars are rice though. There are riced out domestics too.
This is so much better then a Ford v. Chevy v. Dodge thread :)
