I also have poor quality vid of the car. In the foreground is a decibel meter. Meter is hard to read. I didn't rev it too much. Only a few stabs, thats all. I didn't want to blow it up :) Saved that for later :thumbsup :goof

mmmm detonation... thank god for for knock sensors lol apparantly the one on the ole SOHC didnt work so well? The 2V engines did not have them. I believe the 4V engines got them though. What a jip 'ey?

Not a good recipe:
10 psi non-intercooled boost (stock Vortech kit)
Returnless fuel system(dead headed pump)
No knock sensor
Lead foot

Thank god for Paul. ;) :thumbsup

Damn! i thought just about everything late model these days had 'em...

They are one HELL of a useful tuning tool though if the car comes with one and you can watch it on a scan tool of sorts on the go.

You would think at the very least the 03s and 04s would.

At any rate, once the blower was off, it wasn't much fun any more. All those LS1s I use to pick on(summer of 2000), got their revenge two fold.

run it at the track ever when it was running decent with the blower?

not bad, would have been a 12.50 car @ 112 or so with traction and a decent 60 ft would be my estimates.

In my opinion, it was way too slow for the money invested. Right ponyride00?:goof :devil

Yeah I guess, but my info is 4-5 years old. ponyride00 would know what happening in that scene these days.

Back in 1999/2000, the returnless fuel system had everyone scratching their heads. No one really had a real answer to the fuel pressure issues. The majority of the tuners were use to adjusting the fuel pressure at the rail with a FMU or AFPR. You couldn’t do that with the returnless fuel system. Fuel pressure is regulated by the ECU by varying the pump voltage. Without a somewhat local tuner that was knowledgeable in 1999+ cars, I was playing with fire. In hindsight, I should have just ripped out the tank, pump, lines and rails and converted it to a fuel system with a return line thus allowing an AFPR.

After the blower was removed and repairs made it was still a great 14 sec car. lol
