View Full Version : Wide band O2 placement???

Where should i place my wideband O2 sensor??? I have read online to place the sensor 4-6 inches downstream from the turbo??? I personally have run widebands closer to the turbo(2-3in). I know the wideband needs a certain amount of heat to work properly. I would like to mount the sensor in the O2 housing it's self. I have a '05 EVO that i am looking to install this on. Any help would be great!!! :headbang :headbang :headbang

Mine is about 4" down from the begining of the downpipe. It's where AMS put the bung when they tuned it. I can take pics tomorrow if you like.

sounds like its pretty far down... 4 inches from the DP???

Ok sorry for the day-late...but here are the pics. Not the greatest quality, the car is tucked into a corner at my parents.

The first on is the O2 housing, that's the factory O2 there...

This second one, You can see the bung welded on between the wrap...It's exactly 4 inches from the flange on the Downpipe...It's where AMS welded it I didn't question it at all.
