Last week I pulled out the inner and outer wheel wells, power antenna, most of the electrical on the firewall, and some other misc crap. Forgot to upload those photos. Heres the recent stuff

First batch of parts to be powder coated. I media blasted them a few days ago, dropped them off at the powder coater after work tonight before I went to the shop.

I still cant believe this water pump actually works. Finding a rebuild kit for this water pump is NOT easy

Ripped off the brackets, pulleys, wheels, do-dads off the front of the 390 as well as the intake manifold and some other crap

Hammer and chisel'd through all of the old plug welds on the passenger side quarter

Cut line

Cut it off in two pieces, I am making new sheetmetal from scratch since I refuse to pay 300 for a junkyard quarter

With the amount of work i have already seen you do, you should probably be able to rebuild that water pump on your own.

Hey eric if you want any help tearing the engine down and putting it back together I can do that in march!! We could strip it down and take it to a machine shop and have it washed and bored or whatever you want and assemble it on our own.

I have also been looking for rebuild kits, they are hard to find as well. I gotta get more time to look, I spend too much time a tthe shop playing with actuators and other crap that I find at the salvage yard :thumbsup

Am I wrong to assume that a rebuild only involves replacing the bearings and seals. I thought that an arbor press and a puller set would be the most you need.

You probably have the tools. You can probably get the bearings at Milwaukee Bearings in Germantown.

Actually, the rebuild kits arent going to work for what I need. Thanks for the info, though!

Kanter sells a new waterpump, 185 bucks. The next cheapest one was 250, freakin nuts for a water pump. BUT it is the entire bracket deal too, I guess it is one piece and usually when they are as caroded as bad as mine, the shaft isn't reusable. I dunno

I took off the valve covers off the motor yesterday. Then the balencer pulley, then the timing chain cover, then the push rods, heads, lifters, cam, flipped her over and pulled off the pan. Haha, ******* parts EVERYWHERE. I didn't want to wait any longer for anyone to come out and help, so I looked up online the correct procedure to tear in and I went at it, attempting to teach myself. My buddy Steve also rents a stall in the same building, and I found myself bugging him a few times asking how to remove this, whats that, do I need to keep that thing over there, etc.

Then I took the second batch of parts to the media blasting service this afternoon, and I spent just under 3 hours blasting all my parts. Taking a trip out to drop this stuff off early next week. Spindles are a ***** to clean and blast after they've been on a car for 43 years, let me tell yah.
