Was it parked, or in the paper? If parked somewhere I would be interested in checking it out on my own...

Any idea if it is an actual T-Type that had its motor swapped out? Or just a Regal that is cloned to look like a Turbo car.

Could be a legit 307 T-Type...

If its a non-turbo T it should have a 7.5 rear with freeway gears.......

Or a 87' Regal T ;). The only year IRC that you could get a non Turbo Regal with the "T" package, ie trim.

I'm thinking its a 87....Someone is mistaken about the year. If its a 86 my guess is its a clone, It would be a ton of work to convert it from a turbo to a N/A car.

In the spring of 87 Don Jacobs had a few N/A a and V8 T package cars, I'd bet its one of those. Do you know if the V8 cars have a 8.5 rear in them?.....

They have standard 7.5" rears and plain gear ratios, since the ole' 307 and N/A 3.8 wasn't certified for the hi-po 3.42 or 3.73's as a combo. I'd suspect some have 3.08's though, which isn't too bad. There was a 87' T that was stolen from a dealership a couple years ago in West Allis, IIRC. Was very clean and nice...may not be a Turbo car but they would make for a great builder if in good shape, IMO.

I do remember seeing a black TR in the Hales Corners area quite often in the late 90's and early 00's...was kind of beat, daily driver type with rust, etc. Black with the regular gray gut, probably a WE4? I always hoped I'd see it for sale cheap and snag it ;).

Just read the ad online...sounds like a legit T-Type that was stolen and had the turbo removed but the engine is still in there. If its mostly there I'm suprised if the guy can't sell it whole for that price. Wonder if it has a gray t-top interior...might need some trim ;). Did he say how much he would want the rear for? Maybe if its cheap enough I can get the motor turbo-less as a project....

I wonder if its the black TR I saw around Hales Corners the past how many years.

I called and spoke with the owner...probably going to stop by there Saturday to look at the car(I just want some parts) per his offer to check it out. Apparently it is a carbed 3.8 motor swapped in but not hooked up but still has the 8.5" rear with 4.10's. I didnt' get the whole story but he didn't know alot either, he traded another vehicle for it and is just trying to get his money back. Sounds like a theft recovery and for some reason the person put in a N/A 3.8(and I'll assume tranny).

I had planned on buying the rear for my cutlass. It does have gray t top interior. the car is dark blue or at least thats the color it appears when it's dark outside. the body is actually in pretty good shape with very solid rear frame rails.

Any word if hes parting or selling? I visited Saturday and he seemed destined to part it out, but this is before Sundays ad. Theres a bunch of little parts I told him I want if he parts it and *tentatively* agreed upon. Tranny isn't the original, its a KTF(?) coded....
